Wow. Excited, have to say I expected Frelick before him and Ruiz for that matter but good for him

Obviously they want to protect the other 2’s rookie status. Mitchell hasn’t been good for a while

I dont know, Mitchell has been pretty damn good this year, and good when hes been healthy. Was clearly hurting last year when he struggled and sat out a bunch.

I expected Ruiz, but he is RH and maybe they want a LH.  Frelick would have been the obvious choice then.  But the Brewers dont do the obvious.  Still, nothing to complain about with Mitchell.  He is having an excellent season and is a year older than Frelick.  Maybe they think he can adapt easier.  Hate to be the one to explain this move to Frelick (and Ruiz).  What more can they do.

I’ll redact my comment. His stats aren’t as bad as I thought. 342/435/ 901 in Nashville is pretty good, but over just 20 games

His OPS is over .900 over his last 90 days which dates back to Biloxi and after he returned from injury

Good clarification because I was just about to give you the  "?"  too, until I saw this.

I'm a little surprised it was Mitchell given he was not on the 40 man already.  I guess he does have the edge defensively over Frelick and a year of seniority.  Really thought it might be Ruiz since he was already on the roster, but he is more of a defensive unknown.  Either way I am pleased as long as he doesn't just ride the bench

Thought this was meant to be in Blue at first…Great redaction.

I’d have thought Frelick for sure, but I’m excited either way. Mitchell has been great when healthy

Disregard, thought Mitchell swung from the right side. Then my mind goes to defense and the assumption that they have Mitchell above Frelick defensively in CF as RedStickBrew mentioned.

All good.  Can't wait to see him play in MKE.  I've seen him run down some balls hit in the outfield gap this year @ Biloxi that reminds me of a cheetah running down a gazelle- he can cover some ground.  His arm is probably considered pretty average though.

Gonna be sweet to watch him sit on the bench and collect two plate appearances in 10 days until he's sent back down.

As far as pure athleticism and 5-tool potential goes, Mitchell is probably the best of the four OF prospects. Very similar body type to Christian Yelich. Hasn't hit for a ton of power yet, but he has a swing that should translate to 20+ HR power.

Being a Type 1 diabetic myself, I have been following Mitchell's career closely. This is really cool.

That's what I fear, he will only be used as a pinch runner and late innings defender

I am 1000% here for people flying through the minors, he was drafted June 2020 and 2 years later makes his debut.  More of this!
