Hader getting shelled by the Royals turning a 9-6 deficit to 12-6 and he hasn’t retired a batter.

Barring a major comeback by the Padres the weekend will be a stalemate in the wild card chase.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Padres also with the 4th most difficult schedule remaining in MLB.

Why doesn't Yelich ring the bell when he gets a HR, it's happened the last 2 times, maybe more that I haven't noticed. Seems kinda arrogant to me.

Is ringing a bell really that important? Seems kind of a goofy symbolic action to me.

Just a fun team thing.  The Marvel hand though, that is just plain stupid...

I think it brings them together and makes them feel good.

If the Padres non-tender Hader after the season, wonder if he would resign with us to get himself right.

It would be epic if he was non-tendered by SDP … re-signed with Milwaukee … had an incredible start to the season … & was traded at the deadline in 2023 - for a major league bat!

Fun fact: Christian Yelich (2.5 bWAR) has been more valuable than Bryan Reynolds (2.0 bWAR) this season....

Gee I wonder who his new hitting coach is.

The Cardinals were the winners of the weekend by getting through a series with the Braves without losing ground to anyone.

Their next 20 games are all against the Reds, Pirates, Nats, and Cubs, except for 2 home games against the Brewers, 14 of those 20 games are at home.

The Brewers are going to have a hard time gaining ground on them.

Unless the Cards go into a dive I don't see the Crew catching them (But anything is possible.  I'd be surprised if they could keep this pace up the rest of the season.).  The best chance at the post season is overtaking the Padres or the Phillies when/if they come back to earth.

Glad we can count on you for every positive Cardinals update. You seem to have a higher affinity for them than the Brewers.

I wouldn't count on the division at this point. The wild card is our likely ticket with how difficult the Padres' remaining schedule is and the fact that they're not getting anticipated contributions from Tatis and Hader.

Padres have been mediocre like us since the deadline. They also have one of the most difficult remaining schedules in baseball and have three less total games than us. Definitely an opportunity.

That would be... ideal. Get a multi-year deal, though.

That first paragraph is totally inaccurate and uncalled for, but par for the course for you. I’m not sure how many “positive Cardinal updates” you think I’ve posted. You must be including my comments that they helped themselves at the deadline when they picked up Montgomery and Quintana. That conflicted with your take that they didn’t do much and needed to pick up a higher end starter.

I hate the Cardinals as much as anyone, and that should be obvious from my posts.

Then you proceed to agree with the substance of what I said.
