I know baseball is tough.   They really need a sweep.    They have to start making up for some of the bad losses

Yeah the Pirates obviously stink and they've been especially bad lately.  A sweep would be really nice.

I'd really really like to see a laugher tonight. Something like 9-3.

As stated above, a sweep here is absolutely necessary. The chances to make up ground are dwindling.

Depends on what your objectives are. If it's the division, then yes, a sweep is probably necessary. But, if it's the wild card, then it's not necessary considering the Padres' remaining schedule and the fact that we're only 1.5 games out (technically, 2.5, but we also have 3 more games remaining than the Padres). A sweep would be great, obviously, but that's still hard to do regardless of the opponent. 2/3 should be the expectation here, as it was against the Cubs.

I'm hoping to see Mitchell in the lineup 5/7 days a week going forward. I think he's an ideal #9 hitter right now, at least with his skill set. Just hoping he can get on base in getting of Yelich and Adames.

To make the playoffs in any capacity I think the team is going to need to go on a run. Something like 8 out of 9.

I just dont see many opportunaties coming up to do it.

There are plenty of opportunities.  The schedule is fairly easy other than that obivous 8 game stretch.

The next 15 games are against bad teams.  Win 11 or 12.

Tough  8 game stretch, hopefully win 5.

11 of the last 13 are against doormats, win another 9.

Call it 25-11 finish  Playoffs.

It also depends on what other teams like the Padres do. And they have the second most difficult remaining schedule in baseball (9 games against the Dodgers), whereas we have only the 22nd most difficult remaining schedule.

With the time missed this season, while still high on Mitchell I figured we'd be waiting until '23 for his chance to make an impact. But he looks really comfortable right now, hope he continues the roll he got on in Nashville. And once again, Yelich ramps up the "tease meter". Stay tuned.

Sixteen runs scored in the last 10 innings of offense (insert "but the pitching was really bad" comments here). And admittedly they haven't beaten Drysdale & Koufax the last two days, but they've made some pretty average pitchers look like them the last few months, so reason to look up. Now see if it leads to a surge.

If I see Taylor starting in CF vs a RHP in the near future I'll howl.

He's actually been better against RHP this year. And don't worry there'll be plenty of howling with Hiura out of today's lineup. lol

No doubt.

Regardless of the splits Mitchell should get a run in CF. Also regardless of the splits I suspect we'll see TT next time a lefty is on the hill.

My guess is that we’ll be seeing the Pirates start a RHP tonight but switch to a LHP quickly.

The Brewers really need to put up some early runs, get out to a lead, add on, have Burnes go 6 or 7 innings, and give the bullpen a break.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

All you need to win 8 out of 9 is luck.

Christian Yelich since June 7, when he was moved to the leadoff spot: .298/.401/.422; 133 wRC+.....

He's had a really nice week too.  If he could stay hot that would be wonderful.
