FWIW, with all the complaining about how Adames has regressed this season, he's actually been significantly better this year by fWAR at 4.2....Has also become one of the elite defensive SS in the game.

Padres gave us plenty of opportunities while we were slumming it against bottom feeder teams in the central. Of course they’ll right the ship as we do.

There's still an opportunity to catch them. We'll probably lose tomorrow in the tough pitching matchup but if we can kinda stay around 2 back through this tough stretch of games, we have a real shot at catching them over the last 2 weeks. The Padres don't have an easy game left on their schedule, and the Phillies also suddenly are much more catchable at only 2 games ahead of us with also a tough schedule to go.

He's pretty much has the same fWAR/150 this year as he did as a Brewer last year at 5.15 fWAR/150. He is doing it in different ways. Last year it was all offense driving his WAR, this year it has been more of a balance of defense and offense driving his WAR. People are likely referring to the regression at the plate going from 136 wRC+ to 113 wRC+ when they talk about his regression.

I think you are stuck in 2001 my man...  lol

So, I appreciated reading the game thread a few hours later (after the win, my wife and I watched a film) only to see that my comment was laughed off.  So let me explain . . . We decided to watch the game on MLB Network, since it was their showcase game and we live in Arizona so it wasn't blacked out.  We usually choose the Bally's feed through MLB.tv but decided to watch the national feed, for once, since the Brewers are so rarely on a national broadcast (not regional, but national.)

In said game, and every other game I've ever heard him (including his video game announcing), Matt Vasgersian's mic is always tuned with very little bass and the volume is low, almost as if the audio engineers are expecting him to get loud and yell a lot.  It just sounds poor, almost like his voice is set to AM radio quality, while his partner right next to him (tonight it was Tom Verducci) sounds just fine; there is bass in his audio feed and it sounds high quality.

It was just an observation.  I wondered if anybody else has noticed that in the past (my wife noticed it immediately.)

Perhaps you did not think my comment warranted entry into the game thread and, if so, I heartily apologize.

chasing two catchable teams really helps our chances, if we can avoid a losing streak.

Oh, I agree. I’m still in it to win it. But it’s the most Brewer thing ever to see Hader blow up a bunch of games for the Padres while we lose series to the Reds, Pirates, Cubs is what I meant. We blew this lead - divisional and wild card and we earned it.

No need to apologize, most probably didn't understand the question because it was about Matt Vasgersian, who last announced for the Brewers on 2001. I guess I don't watch enough games on MLB Network to notice.

Yeah, I don’t watch games on MLB so I had no idea Matt V. was announcing there. I assumed you had a brain fart and we’re talking about Brian Anderson (which I’m assuming most people did without the MLB network context).
