Maybe BF.com should pick a favorite "section".  Then when you go to the game, complain loudly about posts in the IGT and then see who notices and ask for their screen name. 😄

Wonder how much it would cost for us to buy scoreboard space with a "Negative Nelly in 203" segment the moment the starter is pulled from the game.

Avoid sitting in left field during day games - the sun and the metal bleachers are absolutely BRUTAL

Old guy take: Every time I sit in the bleachers, some dude is falling over drunk on me by the sixth inning. Like the seats, hate the atmosphere.

Agreed!  Except sometimes I'm that guy.  Also on a related note, if you need another beer in the 8th inning+ or while you're leaving the stadium, you can usually find an unattended beer case near a concession stand.  Also, never buy anything except the cheapest terrace reserve seats, its a really easy ballpark to find open seats on the first or second level.

Nah I live in Vegas now.  Also, I think I heard it was just a water bottle.  This next weekend I'll go to my first games of the year when the Brewers head to San Diego.

Love Petco. I feel it's akin to Target Field in a lot of ways. A decent - not great - stadium that has the best location possible (even if how they leveled that arts district to build it was... not great, to say the least).

Is there anywhere in particular you recommend I buy seats?  Any nearby restaurNts or bars I should visit?

I’ve only been there 10-ish times and usually after my friends bought seats, unfortunately. I moved to LA just before it was built so basically told my friends “buy tickets, let’s go to a game!”

I don’t even think I’ve seen a day game at Petco for that reason.

As far as bars and eating, it’s the gaslamp. Bars and eateries change as quickly as the seasons, just pick a spot and sit down.

Downtown San Diego was nice.  Tickets were surprisingly cheap too.  Was only $71 on stubhub for first level 16 rows behind the dugout.  Upper deck behind homeplate only $34.  I liked having beaches very close by, but unfortunately it was a little too cold.

2nd level bleachers in right field is a nice view for relatively cheap.  Bathrooms right behind you and if you need some drinks you are right by the craft beer section if that's your thing.

My biggest tip for people coming with kids and who are interested in saving money is to take maximum advantage of the carry in policy.

Because we live in town we generally just go for the game and don’t spend much on concessions. In my old age I’ve gotten lazier about getting a bag checked when we enter, and if I feel like having a snack I just pay for it. But before they tightened up the policy some after COVID I would bring in a small soft sided cooler with small bottles of water or soda and a bag of peanuts and we would be pretty much set. If we feel like a hot dog or brat we buy them.

I see a lot of people who spend significantly more on just concessions than we spend on tickets and parking.

We love our 10 pack seats in row 1 of the terrace boxes in section 424 (just to the left of home plate). I think they provide a much better overall view of the action than many seats in lower levels that cost 2 or 3 times more. Plus, the front row seats have a little more legroom and cup holders.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

A concessions note: on Fridays, the concession stand behind section 204 has a semi-secret fish fry (it's not on the posted menu) which is a surprisingly good  value compared to many ballpark options.

That's a great tip, going to have to check that out this weekend!

Why does a concession stand have a secret fish fry?

It was on the posted menu at the Friday night Angels game. But still, thanks for the tip.

Grab a Designated Driver coupon/freepop on the field level behind home plate.

Let the kids throw, hit, and run in the kids area by the right field corner.

It's been a couple years since I've bought tickets on their website and what I'm seeing is a pretty big disappointment.  Dad and I like to go to day games and he gets the 50% senior discount.  Used to be I'd get the tickets and apply the discount to his seat, wherever we chose.  Now anywhere we'd want to sit you cannot apply the discount anymore.  I ended up getting 2 full price tickets instead.

Code is DAYGAME...it should work. I just checked. But if you are confused, it might be because those HALF prices are the half prices...not the regular price. As themed for this year, Brewers jacked up half price game prices A LOT!

No I figured that piece out. But you can only apply it to certain seats now as opposed to all over the place like before. We go to one game a year if we’re lucky so we’re not going to sit in the nosebleeds or potentially roast along 3rd base. And yeah I did notice prices were jacked up.

I don't know if resurrecting this was the best option but I didn't see a better place to put it:

American Family Field is getting a new indoor food truck park

I can vouch for Chucho's Tacos. That place is legit.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this question...

Is there an obvious reason the Fri 7/25 game is a 3:00 start? From an attendance standpoint, that seems rough for a workday.
