I can’t believe we got Contreras AND Payamps for Ruiz. Contreras , I’m legit excited about not just the bat (power will come) but how he seems to want to and already has been improving behind the plate.

And Yeager. A minor league RP with some good strikeout numbers.

The best part is we literally have 4 CFs younger than 25 who are/were better than Ruiz.

Padres sporting the WORST uniforms in professional sports.  They wore these last year, ok, it was a mistake.  Wearing them a 2nd year and it has now become a travesty.

The catcher looks like a Peep.  You know, the marshmallow candy?

After tonight... they might not wear those things again.

And I dont like any of the city uniforms.

You knew me as Myday2001.

You guys have to be yanking my chain, there is no way you can like these uniforms.   They look like a junior high girls softball team.

Just absolutely hideous.  An embarrassment to MLB.

The Brewers city connect jerseys are not on this level of suckiness,  At least they looked like our old powder blue jerseys, so not that much of a stretch.

When I saw these uniforms on the Gameday highlights, my first thought was that SD deserves to get pounded for wearing them.  Not sure if I'm disappointed that I can't watch the game, or happy that I'm not spending 2.5+ hours looking at those things.

Not to rain on our parade as I am pleased with who we have but it is relevant to point out Ruiz has had a really nice start to his Oakland career. He is batting 9th and Lead-off regularly. He's played solid defense in the outfield,

41 AB / 6 R /  6 RBI / 3 BB / 3 HBP / 7 K / 4 2B / 2 SB / 0.293 BA / 0.773 OPS

I think we'd all be pretty stoked with this production from one of our OF prospects.

I live in the Twin Cities with kids, so the wife and I don't get to games as much as we did and would like to. But if the fans really get behind this team, with the young talent, this could be a really fun year for the Crew.

I like being up 10-1 in San Diego. That is all.

Correction, I really like being up 11-1 in San Diego.

I'll laugh if Wilson gets a second three inning save before Devin gets his second save.

Imagine being told that Bryse Wilson would be the team leader in saves right now.

Then also that Williams was healthy.

Then also that Williams would have a 0.00 ERA.  Baseball weird.

way, way too early to make that statement - thinking there's just as good a chance Ruiz has a better overall MLB career than most(but not all) of those 4.  I'm glad he brought a quality starting catcher back in return as part of being traded, and am cautiously optimistic he doesn't wind up being a player the Brewers wished they held onto.

Well, my point is that I'd be disappointed if we traded any of the 4 guys we have straight up for Ruiz.  Thus, he's #5 on my prospect list. Of course he might end up better than all of them.  But that would be 20/20 hindsight and might not occur.

Checking in late to GameDay. What a great start. Brewers need this ump traveling with them. Guy's at 6-0 in favor of Brewers.

Let's see another 4-6 runs and make it an easy pitching night.

That's how you have an easy night. 3IP save. 6 strong quality Start by Lauer.  Tellez bombs, mote walks than Ks. Continue 4 games ahead of the Cards.
