Flexen absolutely blew up in his last start v the cubs, currently sporting a WHIP over two (not unusual for his career at times)

Brewers will be expecting a solid outing form burnes will be enough, never mind a special one

Flexen has walked seven and struck out six so far this year, as well as giving up 16 hits

Anyone on here ever go to a game at Seattle?  I said to my wife yesterday, next time the Brewers play in SEA, we should go!  She agreed.  Curious how the experience is at their stadium.

The Brewers will be well represented tonight! I live in Seattle and have Mariners season tickets so of course I will be there tonight right behind the Brewers dugout. It’s my first in-person Brewers game since the last game of 2018!

T-Mobile Park is fantastic but it is open air even with the roof closed so dress warm! The food and drink options both inside and around the park are pretty good.

Highly favorable matchup for the Brewers tonight but the Mariners have played better than their record and are winning with their usual formula of pitching and defense. Julio Rodriguez is off to a slow start.

OWBC - I thought you lived in Seattle but wasn't positive.  That's awesome you have season tickets.  I've been to Seattle once and we walked around near the stadium.  I loved the city!  Well I hope we can make it there the next time they play.  Thanks for the info.

We shall be vexin' Flexen!

Mariners will take their turns against Burnes, but to the dugout sad-faced they shall each have their returns!

This battle in Seattle will be a slaughter ... Mariners fans should hide their sons and even their daughter!

May also have been a little lucky last night

I think he was bad for both teams which is evident in the 0.42 runs in favor of the Brewers.  Definitely a bad umpiring game.  There were bad calls for both teams that mostly benefited the pitcher.  The only luck was the Padres didn’t get a hit when they had the opportunities to score.

Hmm I think he did favour the Brewers a bit, some bad calls against the crew for sure, but the should be walk to Cruz, as wella s the Machado AB, anyway I think it possibly evens out the D'Backs game where Gallen got some calls. It swings and roundabouts eh?

There was a Yelich AB where the ump called a strike on a low and away pitch that would have put the count at 2-1 instead of 1-2.  Yelich then swung at the next pitch which was a little bit higher but also out of the zone.  One pitch can change an AB.  There were a few others but that one stood out to me that was similar to the Machado AB.

Definitely a poor zone overall, maybe I missed some of them as there was less tension being ahead in the game at that point. These old umpires are so much worse than their younger counterparts, and it's not close

If you look at the zone you can see it was a bad zone for the hitters yesterday.  There were only three misses that went the hitters way and usually that is going to be the case inside the strike zone.  But as you can see in the Missed Calls the umpire was calling a lot of strikes lower in the zone which helped Darvish out a lot as that is where he normally is living at and the same for Miley.

The Machado at bat was the one where I was thinking about how much complaining we would be doing if that happened to us.  He then struck out on a pitch that was outside the zone because he just had 2 terrible pitches called strikes.

Umpire scorecard had that 9th inning strike 3 to Cruz as the correct call.

Meh. 10 missed calls but the 2 most "impactful" were 2 balls called strikes to Machado leading off an inning nobody on. The falling 2 ABs were strikeout and ground ball to 3rd that would have been double play with Cruz running.  We had 2 that other game with 2 outs called strikes  to end the inning. I remember 1 had multiple runners on base. Maybe the other did too.

As to this game. Looks like the team ought to put up some runs with their approach this season. Burnes can put together a Quality Start+ and take game 1 in series. Wiemer and Contreras are overdue for HRs. Let's see 1 or both get one today.

If Tom Murphy is catching, he hasn't thrown out a runner in 5 attempts. We might see 4+ SBs today by Crew.

This makes me feel way better actually reading it. Of the 8 players in Japan who had this injury the median return time was 81.5 days (seems the standard deviation was quite large though) and none of the players had a recurrent injury to that area in the 21 months post recovery. Woodruff last pitched April 7th. If he could return at 82 days that would put him back around the beginning of July.

This is news is just deflating.   That’s three injured starters.   And one of them is really good.

I dont know if we can hold up in the Long run.   This kinda sucks.    I was pretty excited about how this team was playing

I went to a game in Seattle in 2018 when it was called Safeco Field. The game was against the Giants and there were a lot of Giants fans at the game and walking around town in general.

The experience at the stadium was fine, and it was easy to get there on public transportation.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Is the city of Seattle even safe to walk around in these days?

We've got a good organization, and that's the main thing with injuries. An effective front office and solid farm system can get the team through difficulties.

I might be overstating it, but I think the organization wins the regular season, and the players win in playoffs.
