This is pretty clearly going to be an IL stint. Can be very serious depending on severity. Fernando Tatis Jr. had it in 2021 and only missed about 10 days, but ended up requiring surgery after the season. Brian Anderson had it in 2021 and missed a significant amount of time on the 60-day IL, also requiring surgery.

If it's more on the short-term side like Tatis, you could see Perkins. However, if it's much longer than that, I think you're going to see Frelick as the new starting CF in place of Mitchell...

Nashville plays at 11am central time today, which is more than 2 days before the Brewers will likely announce a call-up for Friday’s home game.

But let’s see whether Perkins or Frelick is conspicuously absent from the Nashville lineup today or Thursday evening (6:05pm central time start).

I think this is spot-on. As a side note, really sucks for Mitchell who just cannot stay healthy. If you follow the minor leagues closely, you’ll know that Mitchell was hurt a ton.

Even if it was an expected 10 day stint on the IL would still go with Frelick as whoever comes up will get plenty of playing time. Then can figure out who deserves to stay when Mitchell comes back. Still not hearing anything about Taylor so have to believe no news is bad news in regards to his injury and wouldn't expect his return anytime soon.

Going to be hard pressed for Frelick to get the call when he hasn't hit well at AAA.

I'd be extremely surprised if Frelick gets the call, especially since Perkins is hitting better, is probably a better defensive CF, and is already on the 40-man.

Yeah Wiemer moves to CF and Frelick/Perkins plays RF.

Wiemer's got the strongest arm, which argues for keeping him in right, if you ask me. Frelick in center, Wiemer in right, Yelich in left.

We'll see but I believe they've played Wiemer in CF on days when Mitchell doesn't start.

I'd move Anderson to the outfield and go with Brosseau at third for now. Might as well ride the hot bat while it lasts. I think they'd be better off with a bench player with good defense given the way Anderson and Brosseau have hit so far.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

I could see them stealing a pitcher from Nashville for a day, before grabbing the player they want. The bullpen hasn't been badly overworked or anything, but I could see that as an option.

With Frelick's struggles Perkins makes the most sense to me. He's been hot in Nashville, can play all 3 Outfield spots, and is a switch hitter so he'll always have the platoon advantage. Wiemer in CF, Anderson in RF with Perkins as the 4th OF getting a couple starts a week makes sense until Tyrone comes back

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Perkins is demoted before Taylor comes back.

Certainly possible, will depend on how he and Wiemer perform the next couple weeks. Sounds like Taylor will be going on a rehab assignment next week so he should be back fairly soon and then I'd guess either Perkins or Wiemer heads back to AAA

Garrett Mitchell showing why his prospect stature is a little lower than Chourio, Frelick, and Wiemer's...high K%/GB% combo and always injured...

Too bad about Frelick's thumb. That combined with the 40 man spot probably did the trick. Depending on how severe Mitchell's shoulder sublaxation is he could still end up as the starting CF in relatively short order.

40man situation made Perkins the obvious choice.  I see Frelick has a bad thumb. Wonder if that's been a thing longer than the past day bothering him and a partial reason why he's off to a slower start.

Didn't Turang get a few OF starts in OF past year? Move Brosseau to 2b and Anderson back to 3b if ever needed. Using Miller at LF today is either an indication they view him better in the OF or value Turangs 2b defense more.

Brewers definitely value Turang's defense at 2B. Without the hard shift, range at 2B is more important than it has been the last few years.

Been watching the A's/Cubs series. Wow, the A's are horrible. A complete joke of a team and stadium.

A's and Rockies are both complete jokes as franchises.
