Seems Syndergaard is scuffling this year. Barely touching 92 mph.

Dodgers pitching coach, Mark Prior, says Noah hasn’t been quite the same since surgery.

Hypnosis and mental hurdles: Dodgers’ Noah Syndergaard seeks answers amid poor start

Apparently a big reason he signed with the Dodgers, despite better offers elsewhere, is the wonders their pitching lab has done with others in recent years. hasn't quite worked out for him so far mind

The first Eric Lauer start we attended was vs LAD and he was like a secret weapon then.  Fingers crossed for effectiveness.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

After the exchange last night about robots and the umpire screwing Peralta, I took a look at the Umpire Scorecard for the game.

It was quite interesting. Either the strike zone box on TV is wrong or the Umpire scorecard is wrong, or both. The scorecard showed no missed calls one way or the other on balls right at or below the bottom of the strike zone. If nothing else the Umpire scorecard disagrees with the sentiment on the board that the 3-2 pitch called a ball was clearly a strike.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

It wasn't clearly a strike but the same pitch location was called a strike twice afterwards.  The umpire scorecard also gives the umpire a few inches on the outside of the zone as true strikes and not a negative.  So if they are called a ball that is ok and if they are called a strike that is also ok.  Not 100% perfect but close enough.  There were only 4 horrible calls last night for strikes and 6 bad ball counts.

The pitch by Peralta last night should have been called a strike but it wasn't an absolutely horrible call either it was close enough where it could be called a ball or a strike.  The umpire last night only really missed 4 horrible calls which should have been called strikes instead of balls.

For tonight's game I hope the Brewers come out attacking the fastball when they see it again.  I don't care if the count is 0-0 or 3-0 if the fastball is over the plate you better be swinging.

Spitballs are illegal but a bloodball is OK?

Probably more of a negative for the pitcher than the batter.  The batter should be able to pick up the ball quicker as it will have a stain on it.

Lauer isn't even a #5. Put him in the bullpen.

Better yet, send him back to San Diego for cash considerations.

So you're telling me having a bloody finger to start the game would prevent you from making it as far as the second inning???

This has all the feel of six or seven scoreless for Noah.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

He’s out of the game after 1…….which is likely a bad break for the crew……
