Winker back and immediately back into the 2-hole. Hopefully it works out better this time.

Yeah, how's that working out?

It’s worth trying to get him going…I get it. The other options are not good either. Yet, he looks awful up there in the #2 spot.

I wonder how other NL Central fans view the division race.

Do they assume the division is Milwaukee’s to lose? Are we the favorites?

I think they view it that the division stinks and it’s up for grabs…..like the rest of the world views it…….

I wish you could guarantee Megill would be able to put the ball in the strike zone from one game to another. Because he would easily be our solution in the 8th inning.

His stuff is so electric.  I can completely see what the front office sees in him.

It's funny because you've seen so much griping about us trading Erceg from cash from the negative nancy's but you don't see them then equally praising us acquiring Megill for cash (and Megill has much better stuff than Erceg)

Edit: Apologies. It was a PTBNL for Megill not cash. We sent Taylor Floyd for him.

It isn't being a negative nancy when people are disappointed that we got nothing for Erceg.  It's just disappointment.  Big difference.

The Megill situation doesn't make any difference whatsoever in the Erceg situation.  I do think we will probably regret trading Floyd though, but that doesn't matter in this situation either.

Just because people disagree with moves the Brewers make doesn't automatically make them negative.  Geez.

Are the Reds the biggest threat in the division? I thought they could be surprisingly decent if things clicked but I thought it’d come from the pitching side.

Haven’t the Reds been stockpiling young talent as they dismantled the team that faded in 2021?

I though they were expected to be competitive by 2024, and with the awful division they are contending ahead of schedule.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The amount of criticism over trading a minor league FA re-signing for cash was way over the top especially when he never was particularly good pitching in the minor leagues.

And the point is you don't see anyone praising the Megill acquisition. The constant negativity from the Brewers online fanbase has gotten to Green Bay Packers levels.

What were we supposed to get for a converted third baseman with a season ERA of 6.46 and a career ERA of 5.07?

Wade Miley is back and Brandon Woodruff might be ready to pitch soon. And the Brewers are in first place again!

Let's keep it that way today.

What do you consider “soon” for Woodruff? If he’s just starting to throw off the mound in a bullpen session he won’t be back pitching for the Brewers until some time after the All Star break at the earliest.

Who has never had a BB/9 under 5 btw and currently in the MLB has over 6 BB/9

Brewers and Packers are significantly different situations. The Packers have had a great deal of success but we've come to expect the most painful end to the season imaginable where is in 50 years of Brewers history success has been rare and basically unexpected.

Don't beat on the Brewers too harshly BECAUSE unlike the NFL where every team has the same resources to acquire/retain players, it is NOT so in the MLB.

MLB has to admit this is not good for too many teams and change this, OR Milwaukee needs to quadruple or more its size so that it's market size/TV revenue are on par with most teams in the MLB.

Until then, root, root, root for the home team and if they don't win it's MLB's shame!

I meant that he’s probably due to start a rehab assignment in the next couple of weeks.
