In an homage to this forum, I used Mark Kotsay in the "Played Outfield" column. 0.03%. That lets me know a lot of you don't play this game.

I used Brooks Kieschnick in the OF spot.   Good pull on Marco Estrada, generally forgot about him. Fairly recent player who was pretty solid for several years.

I've got a little mileage on me. I collected a LOT of baseball cards in the day & read whatever baseball magazine I could get my hands on. As the years go by, I haven't kept track of other rosters year-to-year like I'm sure many of you do, and my "good old days" memories don't include more recent teams. So I've had a lot of 9-9 grids, many with rarity scores in the single digits, but if they throw the Marlins, Rays, or Rockies at me I'm usually in trouble.

Like today, for the Brewers/Jays combo I used Phil Roof. My OF was Marshall Edwards, and 30 SB guy was Pat listach. Finally, some use for living in the past.😛

Got a Phil Roof bat as a giveaway on Bat Day as a kid. Because of that, he has always had an outsized importance in my baseball memories. Don't remember him as a Jay. Great pull, I salute you.

I’ve got to remember to start playing these again.

I enjoy doing them while I have games on TV.

I can get a lot of obscure ones from the original 16 franchises by remembering players from my old baseball cards.

I have a lot more trouble with the newer franchises.

It sounds like Jim French and I have similar strengths and weaknesses.

Update: did today’s and my 50’s baseball card knowledge helped me get the Tigers-White Sox block at 0.3%.

I thought it was pretty easy to get 9/9 on this one. I don’t really shoot for rarity so I took some of the low hanging fruit, like in the Cardinals-Tigers block where I just watched the one I chose  yesterday.

Alex Hall wouldn't count. Way more people remembered Dempsey as a Brewer than I thought. Mieske is always my go to for a Diamondback or Mariner.

I don’t rack my brain too much for rarity but on Brewers-Orioles I got 0.6% with Andy Etchebarren.

My catcher was Jim Sundberg (0.9%) and my Mariner was Gorman Thomas (6%).

I used Abraham Toro, Jesus Aguilar, and Dave Nilson for the Brewers.  And got Vinny Rottino in for LF/C combo, he was a .01%.

I think that I know baseball pretty well. Then I come to this thread and feel so stupid. My memory stinks. You all are amazing. I'll cheat sometimes when I know the player but can't think of his name. Or often with the team-team parts, I'll look up old rosters to remind myself who played on those teams.

Can't tell you how many times I've done that. Frustrating. Yet I remember the girl a couple blocks down the street in HS......nevermind.

My three Brewers today L to R were Rick Auerbach, Wayne Comer & Tommy Harper.

Not bitter at all.

My 3 Brewers were: Ken McMullen (.05%), Steve Hovley (0.2%) and Tommy Harper (0.6%).

That's funny because I used McMullen for Texas/LA & was trying to decide btwn Hovley & Comer. Thought Comer would be the rarer pick but turns out they were both 0.2.
