Used Casey Mcgehee for today's.

I’m sure it was less rare than McGehee, but I sometimes like to use stars from my childhood because they tend to be rarer than more recent players, so today I used Eddie Mathews for that one and it was just 2%.

Because there is no IP minimum I was wondering if they would take Bauers based on his one scoreless inning even though it isn’t a full season yet. They did take it and I also took advantage of the no AB minimum to get Toro for his over .300 last year

So my Brewers were Jim Colborn (0.4), Bauers (.04) and Toro (.07).

I was then able to use my knowledge of players from 50 years ago and more to get a total rarity score of 10 without doing a lot of thinking

I too went Graffanino, and matched up with Brian Shouse (.02) and Willie Randolph. (0.3)

OK, spoiler alert:

Detroit has a statue of Hank Greenberg at their park. I had my picture taken next to it. He is shown hitting a baseball. Today I learned, to my chagrin, that he only had 1628 hits. I just assumed he would have easily cleared the 2000-hit bar, even with his military service. Did i mention he has a statue?!?!!

Greenberg also has a lifetime OPS over 1.000, two World Series rings, a movie and the Hebrew Hammer nickname long before Braun.

None of those facts mattered in Immaculate Grid yesterday. You can see why I was surprised he didn’t have 2000 hits in his career.

Using knowledge from my baseball cards of the late 50’s I was able to set a personal record today with a Rarity Score of 6.
