Fox went and switched to the damn Twins game so I missed most of it. Major bummer.

I don't understand why I couldn't watch the Brewers on their damn app.

Show commercials between innings just like on TV.  Me watching on the app increases your total viewership which will increase your ad revenue.

Honestly, that felt like one of the best wins of the year.  Hard fought, come from behind, against an outstanding lineup.  At the end of the year, I think we look back on this one as one of the most memorable wins of the season.

So is this a Hall of Fame game thread?

As soon as we get some cheese sandwiches it will be...

But I genuinely vote yes after read pages 8, 9, and 10 and seeing about fifteen different versions of "uh oh" only to get the victorious relief.

Maybe they just had the crowd mics louder than Bally does, but the atmosphere felt really loud on the TV

My first game of the season, up visiting from Dallas but I can confirm the crowd was ballistic all night, especially for Sal.

Did Italian win the Sausage Race in honor of Frelick's debut?

What I want to know is, is Frelicks' debut worthy of national mention? I mean, 3-3, four productive ABs, two outstanding plays in RF, & was instrumental in his team winning a baseball game is all well & good, but more importantly, did he break any statcast records?

Since July the Brewers despite the offense at times, have looked a far more consistent, potent team

Facing probably the best team in baseball, with hat lineup, and neither team has the top two aces going, you have to say each game could've gone either way.

The Brewers have had a chance to win both (loads of men on yesterday) as have the Braves, albeit helped by the ridiculous Austin Riley, dear god I hope Brock Wilken is like this.

But what a series so far, supreme quality and well worthy of a playoff matchup

It would be nice if the diamondbacks show up this weekend

The Diamondbacks are slumping/fading pretty badly. They have lost 11 of their last 15 and gone from a 3 game lead in the division to 4 games behind.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The Brewers have certainly been more successful at winning games this month, but “potent” isn’t a word I would have thought of because I would usually associate that with offense.

They have won 14 of their last 20 games, but they’ve done it in two blocks of games that have been as different as night and day.

In the first block of 11 games they won 7 while scoring 67 runs and giving up 56.  It looked like the offense might be coming around but the pitching was showing some signs of leakage, especially in that stretch against the Pirates and Cubs.

In the last 9 games, starting with the 1-0 win over the Reds the day before the All Star break, they have scored just 29 runs, which is the worst in MLB. But, they have managed to win 7 of those games because they have surrendered just 19 runs against 3 generally prolific hitting teams.

It’s kind of a question of what gives first because that rate of run prevention is not sustainable. But, if they can make some improvements on offense while getting Woodruff and Miley back and close to expected effectiveness, the team could be formidable in August and September.
