Tyrone Taylor still has his swing and miss, but he's looked much more like the version of last year in recent plate appearances, and his power could be valuable. May see That platoon more often in CF (assuming Wiemer starts today)

It's the infield that's an interesting one.. do you drop an on fire Turang for righties of Adames, Anderson and Monasterio?

I think Turang stays as they want hot defense on the infield for Miley usually... Monasterio, Adames, Turang and Santana?

It's not that I think Anderson is that much better than Adames, but I think giving Willy another day or two would be good. I'm hoping for Anderson, Turang, Monasterio, Santana.

I expect Counsell to play completely uncreative checkers as he has the last few years. I anticipate Frelick and Turang on the bench. A lineup something like Yelich, Contreras, Santana, Adames, Canha, Monasterio, Anderson, Taylor, Wiemer. And then after the game he'll shrug his shoulders and say "why can't we hit lefties" not able to see that he benched 2 of our currently best hitters for no good reason.

This is my hope as well for the infield. I also think it wouldn't be a bad idea to give yelich a day off today. 1 for 10 career against Freeland, and I'm sure he could use a day. Frelick in left, Taylor in right, Wiemer in center, one of Canha/Caratini DH.

Yelich is hitting .234 against lefties, which make him one of the better hitters in our lineup, sadly. So I think CC should leave him in.

Interesting stat: As a team, the Brewers are hitting .232 against lefties, and .235 against righties.

His batting average is good, but he hasn't done the same damage he's done to righties, meaning if he's rested it's more likely to be for certain lefties than against right handed starters

I don't know. Last night, we fielded the best lineup we have (except for Taylor) strictly in terms of numbers. That was a winning formula, so why not try it again.

I'm not disagreeing, I'd not mind either way to be honest. I think Wiemer and taylor will due to their history vs lefties, after that it could be Canha or Yelich, or even Anderson.

If it was a right handed starter I'd agree 100%

My point regarding Yelich, going to the extreme you don't want him playing 162 games...even if he DH's some. I can understand not giving him the day off, but this wouldn't be a bad time for one. We are currently in the middle of a fair amount of games in a row, but have a fair amount of days off over the next few weeks.

I would expect Yelich to play as they do have 4 scheduled off days in the next 16 calendar days. You really shouldn't have Yelich or Contresas out of lineup at all the way they are swinging at the moment

Adames is among the league leaders in strikeouts (116). His at bats have often been soul destroying. He's been given every opportunity. That's undeniable.  I think longer than a day or two is in order.

Canha/Santana/Candelario hit watch: Canha and Santana are 11/67 in 17 combined games with MKE. Candelario 12/25 in 7 games with the Cubs. Will this be the day they overtake Candelario in number of hits since being traded? My anger at the mere sight of Canha in the batter's box is approaching JBJ levels. And in only a week!

On a personal note, my last two attended games have yielded 26 Brewer runs, so that has been fun. And Canha/Santana have gone 2/19 with 0 RBI and 2 runs scored in those two games.

I don’t know if our lineup is out yet but adames needs to sit awhile.    He is either unwilling or unable to make adjustments this year to improve.

we don’t need anymore rally killers.   And Taylor can play for wiemer for awhile too

I just hope they didn't use up all their hits last night.  It seems to be feast or famine with these guys.

The 2 games they scored big, both times the other team put in a bad reliever or relievers that got torched for a lot of runs. Not to minimize what they did too much, because it's still an MLB or at least an AAAA caliber pitcher...but it can be a good thing to get those kinds of atbats for a team struggling to hit. One good atbat of making real good contact might be enough to spark a struggling hitter.

He's definitely not unwilling. McCalvy talked about how he's tried a lot of adjustments but just can't seem to make anything stick so far.

I think it is worth noting that people were complaining about Turang not playing versus LHP earlier in the season but now he plays against them regularly. It’s part of the development process.

Frelick has been outstanding with how CC is currently using him and TT is heating up. And as soon as Freeland exits the game, Frelick will be in there.

Carlos Santana was scratched because of illness. Mark Canha gets the start at first base and William Contreras will DH.
