AA Biloxi has dropped 2 games in a row against Pensacola and now looks to RHP TJ Shook (5.09 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 11.2 K/9 in 70.2 IP) to turn things around. 1B Ernesto Martinez has a 14-game on-base streak.

No EBJ after being late scratched yesterday. Not ideal. Really has been a cursed year for him.

AAA Nashville has won 3 in a row and has RHP Colin Rea starting at Gwinnett tonight. 1B Keston Hiura has a 9-game hitting streak and 19-game on-base streak.

Dylan O’Rae doubled and Tayden Hall singled him home (then stole second) bottom of the first.

Yorman Galindez has gone five scoreless with 2 H | 1 BB | 4 K as O’Rae leads off for Carolina bottom of five.

My mortal enemy Trevor Werner has another 2 hits so far tonight. This guy is single handedly trying to win the series for Columbia.

Wisco picks up two runs bottom of two via Mike Boeve single, Joe Gray Jr. single, Darrien Miller HBP, Ben Metzinger single.

Cornielle has thrown three scoreless with 1 H | 1 BB | 4 K so far.

Tunes in. Tayden Hall dub. Jace Avina 2-1 count. Blue ball. Runs on the play. Back-to-back dubs. Mudcats reclaim the lead. 2-1. One down. Bottom of the 8th. 🥰

Time for the weekly Biloxi bullpen meltdown. Luis Amaya inherits runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs in a 1-0 game. He goes BB, BB, 1B and it's now 2-1 Pensacola with runners on the corners

Mudcats hold on to win 2-1!

Lynchburg leads 4-3 in the bottom of the 8th at home versus Delmarva so this victory is large in maintaining a 2.0 G lead in 1st place. 28 games remain in the second half. Lottttttta ballgame left. And none of these games are head-to-head with second place Lynchburg or third place Fredericksburg.

The playoff semifinal featuring ACL Brewers (31-25) at ACL Rockies (40-15) has begun, with one key lineup surprise for the Brewers: 9th round pick, 6’4” LHP Mark Manfredi makes his organizational debut.

This is something of a David vs. Goliath affair, at least based on player ages:

  1. Cooper Pratt (19) – SS
  2. Juan Baez (18) – 2B
  3. Eric Bitonti (17) – 3B
  4. Satchell Norman (21) – DH
  5. Edgardo Ordonez (19) – C
  6. Miguel Briceno (20) – LF
  7. Luis Medina (20) – CF
  8. Reece Walling (19) – RF
  9. Yeison Perez (19) – 1B
  • Mark Manfredi (23) – P
  1. Fadriel Cruz (22) – LF
  2. Adael Amador (20) – SS - rehabbing from High-A
  3. Aidan Longwell (21) – 1B
  4. Jason Hinchman (24) – DH
  5. Felix Tena (19) – RF
  6. Braylen Wimmer (22) – 3B
  7. Ronaiker Palma (23) – C - sent down from High-A 2 days ago
  8. Tevin Tucker (23) – 2B
  9. Caleb Hobson (21) – CF
  • Angel Jimenez (20) – P

SS Ethan Murray tripled and scored last inning, now RF Jackson Chourio smacks his 19th homer of the year. We're all tied up at 3-3 in the 6th inning in Biloxi, with starting RHP TJ Shook rightfully taken off the hook what would have been an undeserving loss.

DH Jesse Winker keeps getting on base for Nashville - single and two walks thus far today.

Although of course we need to see home runs from a potential Major League designated hitter, we can tip our cap to his results and clearly focused performance. The only odd thing is that he was somehow thrown out going for 3rd base after tagging on a fly ball to right field in the 1st inning.

2B Jahmai Jones has the hit of the game thus far for the Sounds, a 2-run shot in the 6th inning to tie the game 2-2.

It's still 2-2, now in the 8th inning in Gwinnett.

Mark Manfredi conceded a harmless walk while garnering 3 strikeouts in a statement 1st inning. But he then exited in favor of 13th round pick, 6'2", 21-year old signee RHP Brett Wichrowski, who's also making his organizational debut today.

No problem! - Wichrowski delivers a 3-up, 3-down 2nd inning (pop out, 2 fly outs).

It's scoreless through 2 innings, but the underdog ACL Brewers have 2 hits thus far vs. 0 hits for the ACL Rockies: Juan Baez 1st inning double, Luis Medina 2nd inning single.

RF Owen Miller singled and scored on a SS Cam Devanney single in the top of the 9th inning to give Nashville its first lead, 3-2.

Here's RHP Thyago Vieira in to try to close it out!

The Bad News: Vieira only topped out at 99.3 mph, pitching on consecutive days.

The Exceptional News: He struck out the side, with all 3 batters going down swinging (including old friend Jesus Aguilar and long-time AA nemesis Drew Lugbauer)! Sounds win!

RHP Max Lazar conceded a solo homer in the top of the 8th inning, so Biloxi trails 4-3.

Thankfully the memo about CF Lamar Sparks cannon arm is still indecipherable to some teams, so he was free to gun down a runner at home to end that 8th inning. Let's go Shuckers offense!

Alexander Cornielle was fabulous (5 IP, 0 R, 7 Ks), while Joseph Hernandez made his first High-A appearance since return from injury, needing to "magician" his way through 2.2 scoreless innings before conceding a solo homer.

Wisconsin leads 2-1 going into the bottom of the 8th inning, hoping to add some insurance.
