You have to be very VERY disappointed by these last two games. Two pitching gems wasted by our  "traditional" 💩 offense and a surprising defensive error.  At least we didn't get swept.

In 99+% of situations, I'd rather pitch to the tying run vs gift the tying run 1b and pitch to someone else. Maybe if Barry Bonds was the tying run I'd put him on, or if Owen Miller was due up not Santana.

All this series means is the division isn't over like it would've practically been with one or two more wins. But I'll take starting with a 3 game lead entering the month of September any day.

Agreed but I hope that Arnold uses this as a springboard to tweak things. Much harder when you are running away from the pack. Division is not won and reinforcements are needed. Bring on Hiura and Black imo.

Aggravating losses in consecutive one-run games with an opportunity to gain ground on the chasing Cubs. After seeing the offense perform well during the 9-game winning streak, we saw nearly the 180º opposite on Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Maybe being out of the weather in the next series will help. Guess we become short-term Cincinnati Reds fans for the Labor Day weekend.

For sure ! I just hope that this isn't a sign to come on our offense going back to awful ! If we can't win with both our aces have great outings , we'll be in serious trouble!
