Teheran was an easy call. Couldn’t pitch in the Cubs series due to the 4 innings he threw yesterday, wasn’t getting rostered for the postseason and is a FA after this season anyhow. 
 

Nice showcase outing vs the Cardinals for some team that will likely want to take a flyer on his services next year and I’m sure he learned a lot from our tremendous PDS that will help him moving-forward.

I don't think this is cut throat, more just trying to keep your pitchers rested for a meaningless series.

So at his point should expect a Colin Rea DFA in order for Lauer to pitch tomorrow.

Guess that means Rea/Boushley/Andrews today, then they get optioned/Boushley gets DFA'd for ?  Junk?  McKendry?  Lauer? Myers?  Surprised at Small's optioning as he only went one inning.

I guess that means primary bullpen day Saturday (Williams, Payamps, Milner, Wilson, Megill, Uribe, Chafin) plus two innings by someone else.

Then Houser Sunday + whoever gets called up for Rea/Boushley.

No Lauer is already on the 40 man…….they could just option Rea again

I get they're looking for 40 man spots vs. 26 or 28, but it's ironic to get DFAs now when they've  piled up phantom IL stints to avoid DFAs throughout the season.

Man, has there been a better scrap heap signing than teheran?  I hope he gets an MLB deal this off season, he clearly looks like he still has it

Boy did Andrews look terrible again.

Boushley's breaking balls looked decent but he didn't seem to have great command with anything he threw. Maybe he could be a Suter type who comes in to throw something other than gas and eat up innings.
