I am more interested in Lee’s bat.  If he can stick at SS great otherwise I think his bat plays wherever you put him.  Defensively you could just stick it out with Turang and just have Turang bat 9th.

Oh, for sure. I wasn't knocking Lee, his bat likely plays anywhere, I just wanted to point out he's almost surely not a shortstop.

Right, though this trade makes too much sense to actually happen.

I didn't want to make a payroll thing for this but here is an interesting sell everything scenerio that in no way do I support but was pondering all day.

1)Trade Yeli to SF for Haniger, P Mason Black, P Landon Roupp

2)Peralta to Balt. for C/1B Samuel Basallo, 2B Connor Norby, P DL Hall, OF Billy Cook

3) Burnes to LAD for P Frasso, P Hurt, C H Feduccia, UTL A Gauthier

4)Williams to Tex for P Brock Porter, 1B A Ortiz, P M Church

5)Contreras to Tampa for P Taj Bradley, SS Carson Williams

6)Payamps, Houser to NYY for P Will Warren

7)Milner to SDP for P Adam Mazur, P Alex Jacob

8)Adames, Taylor to LAA for INF Kyren Paris, P Ben Joyce, P W Urena

C)Quero, Basallo, Feduccia 1B)Basallo, Ortiz IF)Norby, Turang, Black, Williams, Paris, Gauthier, Brown, Montesario OF)Frelick, Wiemer, Mitchell, Chourio, Cook, Gauthier, Perkins DH)Haniger SP) Ashby, Gasser, Bradley, Frasso, Warren, Hurt, Misi, C Rodriguez, Black, Roupp, Porter, Mazur, Henderson RP)Uribe, Megill, Peguero, Wilson, Vieira, DL Hall, Church, Joyce, Jacob (convert starters)

We would have some a ton of money to sign some high quality players to 1/2 year deals (IE Giolito, Hoskins, Bauer)

what type of players we can get back if they move Freddy and Corbin and Willy?

Freddy peralta on his current cotract is worth an absolute fortune. Easily comparable with a high end prospect at least, such as Jordan lawlar plus one other, or even in the realms of a junior Caminero potentially (although the Rays wouldn't do that)

Certainly brings you either a top 5-10 prospect in baseball, or multiple top 50 players

Or a Jackson Holliday?

Would we trade Peralta straight up for him?

The Brewers would definitely do this but I don't believe the Orioles would.

This is the first time I have seen Freddy Peralta's name specifically mentioned. I guess if the right deal comes along....

Yes, I hated seeing his name in there. Never considered him a trade candidate.

I have a hard time seeing Peralta traded with no Burnes and Woodruff on the team next year. Good luck trying to sell season tickets if you're trotting out Adrian Houser as your team's Ace. Even if we brought in some young SP to replace him, they would be someone BF would be excited for, but the average fan wants a known player and isn't keeping up with other teams' prospects. Of course I'd love to see what a huge value like Peralta could bring back, but filling the seats next year is no small consideration.

Same here. I would be shocked. Burnes and Williams I can see being traded but trading Peralta might be taking it a bit far.

What if the Brewers trade Peralta and Williams/Burnes in the off season then Burnes/Williams at the deadline?  I believe the Brewers best trade piece is Peralta and Burnes or Williams are a distant second and third.  If you want to do a rebuild I think you start with Peralta and then keep one of Burnes or Williams until the deadline or in Burnes case just keep him and take the pick.

I really don’t see them trading Peralta, unless someone blows them away with an offer. He’s on small contract for 3 more years. That was just Arnold throwing chum in the water to drive the others GMs in a frenzy

The Brewers are not going to rebuild. If they trade Burnes-Adames or Williams it will be because the return blows away the comp pick, in which case they likely get talent for today (the ‘24 season) as well as tomorrow, and with their returning talent including the best bullpen in the game (just replace Williams with Misiorowski sometime during the second-half of the season) can still contend for the central crown.

Not as strong as with them granted, but strong enough to still be a contender.
