- INF Josh Adamczewski placed on Low-A Carolina’s 7-day injured list

Unfortunately, Josh suffered a freak ankle injury in warm-ups this past week @ Delmarva. The injury was then re-tweaked during the contest. For a young man who literally has zero injury history these past couple of weeks must be beyond frustrating - just very odd bad luck! Time to visit the shrine of Jobu for a healthy post-season run:

Incredible article with Yoho headlining it on Baseball America. Put it this way the changeup is an outlier of an outlier type of pitch. It is off the charts unique. Expect him up for a reliever role for the playoff push possibly Miz too.

Indeedly do. I brought it up in yesterday's DSL Game Thread. Needless to say, it's quite nice to see the notoriety and discovery being brought to wider eyes. Just imagine what that pitch looked like back in April when he was slinging it to High-A hitters averaging nearly 2 K/ IP. There's a reason Statcast calls it a LH curve - they've never seen a pitch like it.

Curious to know from the guys who watch a lot of Mudcats baseball, is Josh Timmerman an up and comer?  Is he someone to be excited about joining the Timber Rattlers?

Timmerman has some pretty impressive numbers for an under the radar guy.

Think he definitely would be getting more attention if there weren’t so many other arms from last years draft just going completely nuts.

At a just turned 22 he is still about half a year younger than the average pitcher in the Carolina League.

His 3.35 FIP ranks 10th among Brewers minor league pitchers with at least 50 IP. The only pitcher younger than him with a lower FIP was the recently traded Yujanyer Herrera.

9.91 K9 is good, but that 5.11 BB9 will probably need to come down as he moves up because he won’t keep on giving up 0.00 HR9 forever.

Good grief! 🥺

Two consecutive seasons Boeve has been put on the shelf multiple times and during a playoff push no less. Not an ideal trend. Let's hope he can get to the bottom of these ongoing nagging injury issues.

I am so hopeful for this kid...have not seen what happened or what part of his body was affected. Any news on that?

We don't have that information at this time.

I think the real question is:

Is this a re-aggravation of the previous injury from the original July 9th IL? He was gone nearly a month and then only managed to play for less than 3 weeks upon return on August 1st. Either way, it was significant enough the org felt it more appropriate to call his season.

Reyes, enjoying an interesting season split between Maryvale and Carolina (1.46 ERA, 24.2 IP, 19 BB, 4 HBP, 30 K) was only on the IL for ten days.

I would like to see him replace Mears on the major league roster

I’m not in favor of a DFA for Mears just yet (too soon), but maybe a mystery IL appearance like Milner would do the trick

I know you said you not in favor of dfa “ just yet” but in reality it’s not even remotely in the possibility of happening.

They liked his stuff enough to trade for him a month ago…….there is no chance of that happening this year.

Now the phantom injury could be interesting but I’ve always thought fans believe this happens far more frequently than it actually does………Milner situation more the exception to the rule……assuming that is what is going on now.
