Losing the huge cringe advertisements…nice

Putting the second scoreboard somewhere still horribly inconvenient for the OF attendees, kinda dumb.

I don't see the advantage of a smaller RF scoreboard. Whom does that serve that can't see the CF scoreboard? Maybe LF, but def not CF or RF bleachers.

Yah, I always thought the theory was one above home plate…probably shading towards left field side.

I guess LF will see this one…and I guess RF can break their neck and look away from the action for it, but it really isn’t what was needed or wanted by fans.

I guess I won’t complain too much…at least it is an upgrade out of the ownership groups pocket.

It's honestly hard to care about whatever upgrades they do when they do charge 12 dollars for a beer, up close to 20 for a good one.

So there's no ads around the scoreboard anymore, which looks great. But that doesn't mean that won't stop them from digital ads on screen which will replace the print ones. Cheaper and easier to update than print ones too I bet.

I was just coming here to post that.  Based on my initial read of the press release, it looks like self check-in for parking customers now, which will increase dependence on the Ballpark App.  That's not a problem for the hawing household but might be for others.

I would not be surprised if parking lot cashier is one of the positions the Brewers have had trouble filling, so that checks.  I do wonder how they will identify parking violators (since it looks like you can just drive in and park).

Anyway, the new system's first test will be the home opener.  What could possibly go wrong?

Assuming it functions like Metropolis, which I have used in different spots in the country, they will mail you a bill based on your license plate info.  If you don't pay it they probably refer you to collections.  But where they will really get you is if they detect you going to any of their lots in the future besides even AmFam parking, they will tow or boot your car.

"If a fan is unable to scan a QR code, parking ambassadors will be available onsite to assist or fans can visit a pay station at the ballpark.

Fans must purchase day of parking or activate their pre-paid parking session before entering the ballpark to avoid receiving a parking violation."

From the article, so sounds like if you are not up on the technology there will be people, presumably with ipads or the such, to help or kiosks where you can swipe a card and enter your plate.  Sounds like you get a ticket if you don't pay.  I wonder if that's a normal Milwaukee city(assuming thats what they are in) parking ticket or something less formal that's more of a bill sent to you.  My guess would be the parking ticket.

Brewers changing up how parking is paid, to potentially make it more efficient getting in the lots

How am I going to redeem my Designated Driver free soda?  I guess I am going to be relegated to be a Designated Drinker.  Oh well...

I'm guessing they will have gates?  If so...

The ballpark app includes a parking voucher image that we show to the designated driver folks.  (Pro tip if you're thirsty for soda: You can show it at multiple designated driver stands and there is no way for them to know.)

"Fans purchasing day-of parking will scan a QR code posted on signs in the lot, enter their license plate and payment information."   This part is not going to go quickly for fans who still resist smartphones and get their tickets printed.  (I don't know how they do that nowadays, but we see folks around the ballpark regularly who are clutching printed tickets.)

I lead a charmed enough life to not have had to deal with companies like Interstate or Metropolis, so I still don't fully grasp how they're capturing our license plates, to compare with what we enter on the app. I guess explain this to me like I'm six.  😄

Our son uses one of our vehicles to drive to school and parks in a garage.  My wife and I parked there once and it not only recognized the plate, but also had a "Thank you" message with my son's name.  Hmmm...

The article said that you prepay and then just "check in" once parked, or scan a QR code and pay day of. I still don't understand how it wouldn't be possible to just park and not pay. I'm sure that has been addressed and there is a way to flag those people. Possibly if they are scanning each license plate coming in, they can determine which ones didn't check in / pay day of?

So it's pretty much like any other parking lot with pay-by-phone except instead of having someone manually check the plates they have some fancy car with a license plate reading camera that drives around and automatically checks against the paid list.

I do wonder how they handle preferred/general. There are plenty that hardly ever go to  games and would take the exit right off the highway to preferred parking even though they paid for general.
