Bingo.

With Cooper Pratt pushing Wilken to 1B in 2026, and Tyler Black playing LF.

Pratt definitely looks like he'll be a GOOOD one, eventually.

Tell me your thoughts about the Brewers infield in the coming years.

Judging by roster construction this last success cycle; likely a couple of homegrown players teamed with mostly players from outside the organization.

1B: Thames, Aguilar, Tellez, Hoskins

2B: Villar, Hiura, Wong, Turang

SS: Arcia, Adames

3B: Shaw, Moustakas, Urias, Anderson,

UTL: Sogard, H. Perez Peterson, Monasterio, Ortiz.

I think someone will pass Turang in the pecking order.

I maintain that Turang's range and arm are tick above that of Ortiz (not that I've seen a lot), and that he'll take over SS next season. Ortiz at 2nd, Wilkin at 3rd. Dunn can be a platoon option for Ortiz/Wilkin.

I think Black will be traded. I think EBJ will find utility work. I think Frelick may also have a role there.

I’ll wait for one of them to hit for longer than a week. None of these guys are worth penciling into a spot 3 months from now, let alone years.

1B: Ernesto Martinez

Bench: Brice Turang, Andruw Monasterio

So this is a REALLY overrated farm system then?

I'm a big Turang fan...but it'll be interesting to see where he settles in. I hope Wilken is working on his body and his agility. I know there's always this "they'll outgrow 3rd," but...they don't have to. You're talking about a guy out-growing a position from ~21 to his mid to late 20s. You SHOULD be training like a CB or WR. Working on your feed and quickness. I feel like Baseball is behind in that respect.

I hope I'm wrong. But, I'll still make my best guess.

1B-Wilken
2B-Ortiz
SS-Turang
3B-Pratt(all '24, he could easily see hiA at some point, allows for a full year in AA in '25, then he signs the Chourio type extension😁).

Utility-Brown-SS/2B
Black-1B/2B/3B...maybe, and LF

That'd be if players develop. And I'm not moving Wilken because I don't think he can handle it, though it is a bit of a waste of a 65-grade arm, but because Pratt looks so impressive early on after coming as a highly regarded prep-prospect.

By end of 2024 (start 2025)=  1B)Hoskins 2B/SS) Turang/Oritz 3B) Dunn, Willy plays well and we get 2 solid prospects for him at the deadline. I think Tyler Black will be traded with a couple other prospects for a controllable young starter at the deadline. Wilken might get some time the last month of the year.

Early/Mid 2025= 1B)Hoskins/Yeli 2B)Ortiz/Dunn SS)Turang 3B)Wilken/Dunn

I still would like to see Yeli get some reps at 1st one of these years but it kind of depends on Wiemer's bat/Mitchell's health or how fast Lara/Yophery can climb through the ranks. If Weimer and Mitchell look good this year, I would give Yeli some 1st reps next year if not maybe 2026 (my guess is one of Lara or Yophery will fly through the minors, or we draft a college OF bat). EBJ maybe makes a run at Mone's spot and some MI if he plays well this year.

Pratt/O'Rae/Baez ready by late 2026 or so but they are to far to guess where they might play or how much.

No, I think it's very deep, and these are the guys who really will emerge. I think there are a lot of permutations...

Black really has the kind of bat that is dynamic - Jeff Cirillo with a plus speed tool.

Frelick, I think moves to the infield as the outfield in 2026 is Chourio (left), Michell (center), Yophery Rodriguez (right), with Wiemer as the 4th OF.

Yelich is full-time DH.

I can also see some deals bringing in some real controllable starting pitchers by Opening Day 2026, with Contreras, Dunn, Bauers, and Peralta among those dealt.

Curious, where did Wilken, Brown Jr., and Dunn go?

That's what makes it an interesting discussion.  And with our recent wave of prospects graduating to the big leagues it is a mystery how it will shake out and also gives people who know more about the Minor League system to pump up the next wave/individuals to possibly make the top 100.

I have always been a big Tyler Black guy...Oliver Dunn seems to have delayed his emergence another year or so.
