Bryan Hudson is moving up the bullpen queue...and Ortiz/Hoskins are trying to make amends...

What are the chances that none of Wiemer, Mitchell or Frelick will ever amount to anything more than average MLB players?  Heck, all 3 could end up being below average.  I know, they are young, still learning, injured, etc, but damn...

Wiemer might never put it all together. Frelick might just not reach his ceiling. Mitchell might keep getting injured and ends up non-tendered.

No sure things…..but when you have a bunch of good prospects at the same position you certainly have optimism that at least one will end up being good..

I think Sal has a lot of upside, Mitchell too. But we'll know when we know.

Definitely one of those GAB games. Definitely can't give extra outs in that ballpark.

Good battle from the offense, which has looked great lately. This is going to be a difficult part of the rotation all year.

Really disappointed in Rhys Haskins. Also in Willy going back to his old ways and only going for homeruns tonight.

Is anybody as surprised as me by Frelick’s absolute fear of attempting to steals bases? He should have done it earlier because Ashcraft is relatively slow to homeplate, but boy if he had taken second just now, it would have changed the entire at bat for Haskins.

Rhys swung at ball 4 and ball 5

Yes terrible swing at ball 4 but I think that ump would’ve called ball 5 a strike. He gave the Reds pitching almost every 50/50 call tonight and then some.

Good effort and alot positive but man Rhys and Willy were both bad tonight. Momentum lost on Frelick ridiculous dive. Bullpen solid again. I for one am disappointed that Chourio who has played center his whole career hasn't since one inning in center.

Hoskins.  HOSKINS.

Yeah, I get it, and if Frelick keeps doing that I think Chourio has to be the guy by default. But it is one thing to say that we have a system full of defenders who can all play center (which got brought up a lot the last few years), but really, the best ones are probably Wiemer, Mitchell, and if he ever puts it together, Chourio in some order. Perkins is great, obviously, but not with the stick. I’d suspect Frelick will end up considered the weakest of the lot defensively, though not for a lack of effort. I think there’s a reason he was the one seeing time in the infield, after all.

Great response. I will not be saying or spelling his name correctly until his play earns my respect 😁

It is good to see some fight, last year in the first half if we were down more than 3 I just turned the TV off. The defense stunk today but I'll give it a little break, not really for Rhys (iffy on Sal).

I am really getting worried about our rotation not getting any depth in the game. We are going to destroy our pen if we average 4.5 innings per game from the pen (not sure what the accurate amount is).

4.8 ish so not far off. Depending on Colin (averaged under 5 last year) to consistently throw quality starts does not bode well. Ross, Junis, Hall, Ashby (while he ramps up and Miley are not arms that will reliably give lengthy starts.

The shuttle to Nashville will be buisy.
