Pro tip for Rhys: Hit homers, they're easier on the hamstrings.

With Rhys returning, there have essentially been three different Brewers offenses to this point of the season...

03/29 to 04/12 (everybody)
136 wRC+ | 6.33 Runs/Game

04/13 to 05/07 (no Yelich)
103 wRC+ | 4.22 Runs/Game

05/08 to 05/13 (everybody)
132 wRC+ | 6.00 Runs/Game

05/14 to 05/30 (no Hoskins)
107 wRC+ | 4.87 Runs/Game

That White Sox lineup is pretty ugly.  Benintendi sure fell off the cliff quickly. Bad last year and quickly getting worse. And the White Sox have him under contract for 3 more years.  And Maldonado, wow. Dude, its time to hang them up.  White Sox would be better off hitting the pitcher and DH'ing for him.

Counsell aging fast. Media grilling him again today.

I had it on in the background.  He did an in game with the Cubs announcers. He really seemed a bit beaten down and no energy, basically sounded bored and not into it.

Funny part of the broadcast is apparently the Cubs thought wearing their socks on the wrong feet today would really snap them out of their funk.   Don't get me wrong, superstitions happen all over baseball and can be fun.  But you can't like pre-plan one or kind of talk into happening.  Something like that has to happen on accident, like Joe Schmo wears on wrong feet then hits 2 HRs that day and everyone realizes it, so everyone starts doing it

There were some on this board who were calling for the Brewers to sign him and then calling the Brewers cheap because they didn't sign him.  There were plenty of predictions about him not living up to the contract.  The Mets and White Sox both gave out huge contracts like candy on Halloween and neither team is all that competitive now.  Unless you have a generational player (Judge, Ohtani, Harper, etc.) then spending a lot in FA and for a long term contract is not a wise decision.  It is like signing an aging RB in NFL FA you may get something nice once in a hundred times but ninety nine times out of a hundred you are getting a flaming bag of poo.

I bet the majority of long term contracts for non star players and even some star players (Pujols, Rendon) are just absolutely horrible and not worth the trouble of even signing these players to long term contracts.

Waiting for his reference to that same team sweeping the eventual WS champs on the road. While waiting I'll take care not to trip over my long, white beard.

Sometimes it helps to address the comments that suggest that a series should be easy because of an opponent’s record.

Baseball has never worked that way..

Sweeping the eventual World Series champions might have to wait until next week.

I get he’s not producing right now, but if Chourio’s become a platoon bat vs LHP, I absolutely hate that. He’s better off in AAA.

Btwn Yelich sometimes DHing & whatever # of days off they feel compelled to give Perkins, it's up in the air as to Chourios' PT. Hope it isn't strictly a lefties-only situation & don't think it will be. Stay tuned, I guess.

Nice to have Hoskins back tonight. Seen enough of Bauers for a bit.

Bauers is in the lineup at 1B.

It makes sense that he would DH for a game or two coming off the IL

Sadly, that keeps Gary’s bat on the bench … maybe he gets another pinch hit opportunity later in the game

Can you offer specifics? I'd love to watch him squirm.

Yeah they were on him about the bullpen again. Guy came in and gave up a bomb to give up the lead. Also 9th inning guy got shot down at the plate. They lead the league in outs on the bases. Was asked why they are so bad on the bases. He was getting asked tough questions the kind he never was asked here for sure by Sophia. He just looked like a guy that is away from home for the first time and is lonely.
