I had switched the game over to check in on the US Soccer match and missed Contreras' at bat. I watched the last two hitters for Colorado. I've switched back over to soccer for you guys. Lemme know how it goes.

Yeah, I loved playing in Detroit because that's the perfect ballpark for a good defense and pitch-to-contact guys.

Coors is more of a struggle. The team speed helps, but balls in play find holes in that place, and it's going to make for a difficult series.

Good news is, our contact offense will benefit too.

Murphy needs to get bullpen ready right here if Wilson doesn't have it.

Wilson is certainly not sharp tonight

He’s one of my least favorite players on the 2024 team

That said - he has pitched well on a few occasions … just not someone I value or enjoy watching pitch

Is soccer a sport? 😉

This has the feel of, like, 11-9.

To repeat myself....I'll be shocked if 5 runs is enough to win this game...

Maybe, maybe not. You never know if they pitch differently with a runner on first and one out as opposed to nobody on with 2 outs.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

This week is going to be the supreme test of the Brewers pitching depth.

Ortiz bunt to first base. The pitcher fielded and tried to tag (missed), Ortiz altered his running path but did not go three feet out of the path. Called out anyway. Papa Murphy argued and tossed.

Ortiz's running path is established when the fielder first tries to tag him. At that point Ortiz was on the very edge of the infield grass in fair ground. So his running path was a straight line from that point to the bag. He avoided the tag by going right with his foot landing on the runner's line in foul territory. I believe that line is 3 feet from the foul line. Which means he went more than 3 feet to the right to avoid the tag. That was probably the correct call.
