If I was a team like Miami, Angels, or White Sox I would be all over Brewer Hicklen. He is going to likely be a 30/40 candidate with a near .400 obp. I really wish we had giving him a shot earlier in the year but now he might be 7th in line if Black is going to playing some OF again (I like that).

Well our DSL wunder-trio have started today 3-3 with a 1B, 2B, HR. Made singled and Pena doubled him home. Anderson led off with a HR for Brewers 2.

Carolina plays a doubleheader at Fredericksburg today, with 18-year old RHP Enniel Cortez making his 4th start at this level (3.27 ERA in Low-A, but 4.84 on the season) in the opening game. Veteran C David Garcia leads the club with a .401 OBP, while Blayberg Diaz hasn’t played in 9 days.

23-year old RHP KC Hunt looks to repeat the domination of his last start (5.1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 10 Ks), with High-A Wisconsin aiming to take a 3-0 home series lead over West Michigan. Major Leaguer 3B Joey Ortiz makes his first rehab start. SS Jadher Areinamo leads the Midwest League in hits (93) and doubles (23), and is 3rd in RBIs (52).

Di Turi just took a 3-0 neck high pitch that was somehow called a strike then grounded out to 1B on the next pitch. Went from 1st and 2nd 1 out to 3rd and 2 outs. One of the worst strike calls I've ever seen.

Some questionable baserunning from Guilarte in the 4th. Guilarte was on 3rd with 0 outs and he stayed at the base on a weakly hit ground ball to the 1B line for the pitcher. With a RHP there would have been no chance of a play at the plate. The next hitter hits a chopper to the drawn in infield and Guilarte heads for him on this one and was out by multiple feet. 0-0 through 3.5 innings.

Now it's Yhoswar Garcia's turn to have horrible baserunning. He reaches 1st on a bad throw that the catcher was backing up. Garcia tried to reach 2nd and was easily out. Some very untypical sloppiness from the Mudcats since the second half of the calendar flipped over.

Brock Wilken with a 105 EV, 407ft HR to LF off a 96mph knee high sinker in the 1st inning. It’s safe say he put his struggles behind him.

He was good. Was getting a lot of swing and miss and called strikes. I think this was probably the best he’s looked from what I’ve watched him. FB was mostly sitting 92.

Carolina open up game 2 with a leadoff single then double to set up 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs. They don’t score any runs in the frame.

I just noticed Tyler Black is playing 3B today. Interesting stuff. Is he trade bait at this point or are they going the poor man's Zobrist route like some have wanted?

Moving him around day to day is really interesting. Almost closer to a spencer steer type of player where he plays a bunch of positions but isn't good at any of them. I suppose that might be useful and get him in the lineup. Does feel like his trade chances are increasing though

Brock Wilken with his 2nd HR of the night and it's only the 5th inning. Sounds like 110 EV, 400ft based on the Lookouts broadcast. Safe to say he's totally back

Black moving around the diamond feels more like something a potential trade partner asked us to do so they could get looks at him in different spots.

If the Brewers planned on using him in more of a super utility role I think they would have been playing him all over the place before yesterday.

The bad hitting and baserunning in Carolina has made it's way to Wisconsin. Areinamo hits a line drive single to tie the game then gets caught in no-mans land between 1st and 2nd and gets out in a rundown. What should have been 1st and 3rd with 0 outs turned into 3rd with 1 out. Wood and Garcia then both struck out to end the inning.
