I think no news is good news as far as the ACL, they usually do a field test for that and with a high profile player like Love something would have been leaked by now.

They are not getting imaging until they land in GB this afternoon. No news means they are in Brazil and are waiting for the medical equipment technology they trust and their doctors.

Right, but they would have still done preliminary field tests to at least try to narrow down a diagnosis.

I admire the collective optimism re: J-Love. I do. I think it's quite obvious, however, his knee cap popped to the side. What this means in terms of ligament damage or any type of cartilage damage is entirely unknown. I don't know enough about that type of thing to prognosticate but I don't think you want your star player's leg in that position with his kneecap popping off to the side. I am not confident.

I don't personally think I'm being overly optimistic at all. I'm being what I see as realistic based on all we really know so far:

- It isn't his ankle

- They believe it's not his ACL based on field tests

- They'll need an MRI to know for sure.

Based on that being all I know and me not being any sort of medical expert, I'm anticipating a torn MCL with a multi game absence.

But, time will tell and none of us really know for certain until they get the MRI done and release the results.

You right they think its the MCL as you stated above.

I am just saying it is probably not an ACL which is good news to my ears. Just saw Peliserro report that initial tests indicate ACl intact. A few weeks out is a lot better than the whole season.

While definitely true, can we win any games with Malik Willis as our QB?

Let's assume just for example that Love misses 3 games. We have the Colts at home, then at Tennessee and then the Vikings at home.

We absolutely must win one of these, we cannot start out 0-4.

My expectation really based on the opponent quality would be to go 2-1, but I truly don't know if Willis is going to be able to move the offense at all.

Interesting that Kraft seems to have passed Musgrave and Enegbare got more snaps that LVN. We had a great draft last year but top 2 guys not stepping up in year 2 as you would hope they would.

Our recent history when needing to play the backup hasn't been good. But the 17 game season and expanded playoffs can be forgiving. We would need to win one of those for sure.

There's a part of me that believes that it won't even be Malik. I think it's entirely possible that this is a development year for Malik and he was only going to be relied on in a pinch.

If it's a multi game absence, bringing up Clifford from the practice squad as the starter in favor of his familiarity with the offense and system would not surprise me.

They won't win a game without Love unless someone else shows up like Tannehill. The way that defense looks though, it's all a big "who cares" from me. I am fine with MLF being shipped out in January too.

They know immediately if it's an ACL(with like 90% certainty).

It looks to me...and I'm not a doctor, but looks like the best and most likely case would be a high ankle or MCL.

The way it pops on that video is definitely disconcerting though.

I've not been watching much of anything since the game. Just an ugly, forgettable game, but I'm not sure if that's good news or bad news. I'd think you're right then, MCL. Hopefully no more than 3-4 weeks at worse. They can survive that.

Wow...we really throw the towel in THAT quickly, huh?

We lost a close game to the Eagles in an ugly game in Brazil. To one of the most talented teams in the NFL offensively.

It has been 14 years of this. A donut hole in the middle of the field and watching both stars and scrubs run free in the middle of our defense. Mr. Tough Guy was supposed to change things but you could have told me it was the same DC from last year.

The Packers deserve a cynical fan base at this point. They have done nothing to inspire confidence in the ability to fix things. They couldn't even find a guy to hit 40 yard FGs with a draft and offseason.

I don't know how accurate this is...could just be guessing(as it's most people's guess).

What type of sprain is going to be what matters. A sprain is just a type of tear, just matters of degrees...I believe(that's what I've always been told).

Yeah...it's been so hard being a Packers fan. They just can't get anything right...🙄

Ok...so a better source, MCL...as most expected.

Let’s say he misses 6 games. That or anything more, I’d say take your lumps, draft high, and bankroll cap space for next year. Tannehill probably wants $10 mil and would have the packers over a barrel. I’d rather have the space and know exactly what we need on defense to make the new scheme work and on the o-line to be full go for next season.

If Love is supposed to miss four or five games, then maybe Tannehill becomes appealing. If it’s two or three, roll the dice on what you’ve got in-house and hope you steal a win somewhere.

Obviously, an MCL sprain is a lot better than an ACL tear, but it’s still probably enough to torpedo this season.

The situation would not look quite as dire if the Packers had a real back up quarterback that had worked with them through training camp instead of someone they picked up off the scrap heap just before the season started.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Just as there are levels to success, there are levels to failure. I think the Packers championship achievements since 1995 are a failure considering who has been at QB. Their consistency in sucking defensively is remarkable. You'd think sheer luck alone would lead to a handful of good sides in that time. MLF is 5 years in. It's time for results. I don't think it's really a hot take at all to suggest he is on the hot seat with another poor defense.

Jordan Love is a human being so I hope his leg is OK. However I have very little faith in the Packers doing anything special this season. Not smart enough to know if it's scheme, coach, or overrated players. Just being honest, my expectation with this team is to be hyped and then choke.

I don't know about Tannehill. I didn't watch him or...haven't paid attention to how exactly he's fallen off. Matt Ryan would make sense to me if he wanted to come back and play a little. He's played in the scheme, MLF has been his QB coach...he retired, but guys come back all the time.

I suspect this will be a 2-3 week thing, maybe he misses 2 games and is just limited, but it's just guessing until we hear more.

It really is unbearable all the winning they've done since the early 90s. Sad times.
