2. C Jeferson Quero (Tier 1)
3. SS Cooper Pratt (Tier 1)
4. 1B/OF Tyler Black (Tier 1)
5. SS Jesus Made (Tier 2)
6. 1B/3B Mike Boeve (Tier 2)
7. RHP Josh Knoth (Tier 2)
8. 3B Eric Bitonti (Tier 3)
9. 1B/3B Luke Adams (Tier 3)
10. RHP Logan Henderson (Tier 3)

Year in Review

Even with rising star Jackson Chourio exiting the prospect ranks, the Brewers still have a Top 10 farm system, led by hard-throwing Jacob Misiorowski and an intriguing collection of offensive talent.

Teenager Jesus Made was signed for $950,000 in January, and he hit .331/.458/.554 with 21 extra-base hits and 28 steals in 51 games in the Dominican Summer League, giving him a ton of helium heading into his stateside debut in 2025.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

File in the 'Well How About That':

Baseball 'Merica's 'MLB Prospects Who Added the Most Fastball Velocity in 2024' (Paid Subscription) lists RHP Brett Wichrowski as the second highest gainer (over 3 mph jump on average) and RHP Ryan Middendorf (2 mph jump) as the 24th highest gainer in the 4-Seamer department. The Crew did not have anyone in the 2-seamer category.

MLB.com com looks like it did a re-rank, has Quero 43, Pratt 57, Misi 80, and Made as the 4th prospect in our system. Likely just outside of the top 100. Nothing to crazy outside of that.

They were the last holdout on Tyler Black being a Top 100 prospect I believe. Fangraphs, BA, BP, and now Pipeline all have soured greatly on him. Pipeline said it was due to a lack of defensive home and that his batted ball data was very poor in AAA

If you need a pick me up after the tough post season loss, listen in to this from Just Baseball.  If you don't want to listen to the whole thing, skip ahead to org of the year and breakout hitter.  That will make you positive about the Brewers future...

Nice to listen to non-Brewers fans that understand what those of us that follow the system as deeply as we do, know — “wave of freak shows coming” — “draft and IFA machine going”. Love it.

I liked how the guy on the left mentioned that he typically is the one to "quash," DSL hype, before outlining all of the reasons why Made is "different".

I, too, prefer to quash my own excitement about rookie-leaguers, but Made really does seem different. He really does seem to check ALL of the boxes, except that he may need to move to a corner from short, and that's mostly due to development risk rather than skillset.

A question for our "scouts," but I imagine that the DSL hasn't been recording exit velocities until recently? Because it's the exit velocities that make Made stand out.

I really enjoy imagining a Chourio-like ascent for Made... I just love this idea of him being incredible, playing shortstop, switch-hitting next to Chourio in the order... oh man, that would be amazing.

2029 — Made at 3B, Pratt at SS, Pena at 2B, Bitonti at 1B, Chourio in CF, Anderson in LF, Payne in RF with Quero catching.

Random Aside: The Brewers had three pitchers in their system who threw 100 mph or more in 2024. Both RHP's Yerlin Rodriguez and Brett Wichrowski threw faster top end four-seamers than RHP Jacob Misiorowski. I found that mildly surprising. Wichrowski threw the 34th fastest pitch at 100.8 mph. Yerlin threw the 23rd fastest at 101.1 mph. I remember that game. It was miraculous. And, then, Rodriguez fell apart for the majority of the remainder of his season.😅

I don’t know when Wichrowski hit 100. Must have been during spring training in the backfields because I don’t remember him touching that hard during an actual game.

I believe early in the year he was hitting 98 in like the starts in Appleton, my guess is he had 1 rogue super heater that makes him look good.

MLB Pipeline: Every organization's Hitting and Pitching Prospects of the Year

Brewers

Luis Pena, SS/3B (No. 22)
It’s rare for this award to go to a short-season player, never mind a 17-year-old playing in his first professional season, but Pena's turn through the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League was undeniable. The infielder won the DSL batting title with a .393 average in 44 games and ranked sixth in slugging percentage (.583), fourth in OPS (1.039) and fourth in wRC+ (175). He added 39 steals as well, placing him third in that category.

K.C. Hunt, RHP (No. 29)
There’s a certain temptation to go with Minor League Reliever of the Year Craig Yoho here, but Hunt was too good as a starter to ignore. Pitching at Single-A, High-A and Double-A, the 24-year-old righty had the fourth-best ERA (2.03), fourth-best WHIP (0.93) and fifth-best strikeout rate (34.7 percent) among the 313 Minor Leaguers with at least 100 innings.

Ha! Just as I predicted. Lots of different names on different lists. They can't decide which Brewers to leave out of their top 100.
