I mean, if your game plan is to be aggressive against Severino (which it obviously has been), you HAVE to be running on the first pitch there. Maybe he was? I couldn't tell. But that's a situation where it doesn't make sense not to go.

This is going to be one of those games where the offense starts quick and then goes silent for five innings, isn't it.

As long as they go loud from innings 7-8 (and don't need the 9th), I'll take it.

Playoff baseball is a unique experience. I hate every second of it but don't want to live without it.

I'm of the opinion that the Brewers should run until they are caught. Force the Mets to make the play. If they do, re-evaluate.

We seemed flustered by Severino’s pickoff move. Whatever he did, it seemed to keep Mitchell from stealing, which probably then saved the Mets a run.

Wish he did that last year.  Would have won game 1 vs the Dbacks.

Erceg with the save. Gave up on him just when he was on the verge of making it.

Must have felt like he was still back in Milwaukee.

Severino splits

LHH: .269 AVG, .774 OPS, 16 HR, 350 AB

RHH: .216 AVG, .615 OPS, 7 HR, 338 AB

This is probably why you see Bauers in the lineup today

I think he has big numbers against Severino too.  I don't mind him in the  lineup, but that first AB was bad.

True. Had a 1.178 OPS too in a very small sample size versus Severino.
