Bauers. They won’t have a rookie former first round pick sitting on the bench multiple days a week. 
 

Canha probably didn’t have enough left in the tank at 36, or they have a hunch another player they like more is going to come available

What is the over under for number of hits from Canha during the series in Milwaukee?

I realize they are probably just going to get enough cash to recoup our costs of having him for less than a month plus maybe a tip...

But if we actually get to pick a prospect out.. even at the very bottom of the bucket, that's kind of a fun timeline -> Sign a guy for 4 weeks to a minor league deal and potentially get a prospect for him.

Short answer: I like it. I've liked it. I've been pushing for a shift to the OF for nearly a year. I've explained my reasoning in other threads but I think it's the most sensible option given his ongoing inconsistencies and struggles in the compressed infield space.

I agree. If he cold be serviceable at first and left he could take over the 4th outfielder job next season and he could get a starters level of ab's.

"A Player to be named later"  Might just bring Joey Weimer back to Milwaukee !    I have a feeling that is what is about to go down here.  LOL .    I love the idea and was a guy who just hated Joey when he was around.

He is terrible in the outfield . His only hope is 1st .  Or traded out of this franchise.   Tyler Black is losing any grip he had on future work here.   Yesterday he cost Yoho runs by simply not moving his feet.   He reminds me a lot of Hoskins on defense as a young player.   Hoskins was just as bad as Tyler Black at 1st when he got started.    He learned to be a much better 1st base after about 5 seasons in the Majors.

It is Hoskins for 2025.   The backup is unimportant for now.    It is Bauers for me for sure.    Black has proven nothing or earned nothing to give him a slot.  His hitting has gotten worse and worse . His defense is still about as bad as you can expect.   Tyler Black looks to be going the wrong way.  He needs a strong AAA season where he is only focused on playing baseball and not when his call up will be.      He is a talent but so is Joey Weimer.

Well, Canha has gone 1100 PAs since his last triple. If you got a hunch you probably can get great odds on a bet.

I think he assumes Bauers will have innings in the OF and a ball will get over his head and rattle around in the corner.

Naturally, Canha has .976 OPS this year. Only 21 PA though
