Hicks is around the strikezone tonight which makes him really tough. His 99 mph.. whateveritis...  is really moving.

And to many Brewer hitters are late to the launch point.

Mitchell was way late getting everything in position to catch up.

If they ever want to update the Mendoza Line with a newer version, Bauers would be great option.

We've got several guys that fit that category.

What's the story with these horrible Giants uniforms tonight?

I swear, MLB is doing it's best to come up with the ugliest unis of all time the past couple of years.

Gonna be tough to beat the Padres city connect 7th grade girls softball team jerseys though.

Feels like Brewers can do better but they cut him and found out they couldn't and brought him back. Unbelievable.

Mitchell at bats ferl very not competitive at all.

He can't hit the fast ones. Must be in the scouting report. So he's going to see a lot more of them.

Mitchell is looking at lower strikes that he should be swinging at and letting the high stuff go that he can't touch. The upper part of the strike zone is almost off limits to his bat if the speed is 93+.

Perkins has to be thinking get back before he gets going.

He is one of those guys that is "more than his stats" and our clubhouse already feels a little "down" with him gone...which is obvious as he was such a big cheerleader of each player.

On what do you base this statement?

Adames was surprised the Brewers never called after he declined the qualifying offer....and after the Brewers approached him about longer term contract extensions an offseason or two earlier that he declined.

I mean, what did he expect would happen once he reached free agency and the GM has all but indicated if he got to free agency he most certainly would get more $$ elsewhere?

A great guy/great teammate is more than fine in my book to earn a good year to year salary playing through his prime years.  A guy past his prime making a ton more guaranteed money for multiple seasons is a franchise-crippling anchor, no matter how great of a teammate he is.  That's, quite frankly, what Adames is now that he signed for $182M as a 29 yr old SS showing signs of defensive decline on top of the extended stretches of bad at the plate.

I didn't read the article but if Adames felt insulted he is being disingenuous.  He had to know we don't have the deep pockets that so many other franchises do.
