I don't remember who said it---I think it was a quote in Ball Four---but someone once said "Baseball is an ass". The Sox have to feel that way after somehow giving up six runs despite Chourio & Yelich going a combined 0-10, with most of those ABs really, really ugly.

That's about all I got, except the BP slogged through pretty effectively with the exception of Grant Anderson, whose arm I assume is going to fall off any day now.

Oh yeah, and I love that Frelick kid.

That sounded like a game winning hit

Bauers has been solid this season

Had he whiffed or failed in some other way to get the run(s) in vs the LHP, I was already anticipating the cries of "WHERE WAS HAASE?!?!", which would've actually been a legitimate gripe since Cameron was still available to go to LF. But he stayed on the pitch really well. Beautiful AB.

Murphy said after the game it was a choice between Bauers against the lefty or Cameron against the righty.

He thought with the bases loaded they would go right at Bauers and they did.

Well, chance to get to a .500 roadie with a win tomorrow. Be nice to get the first sweep of the year too.

I feel real bad for Collins. Such a flukey injury, and he's been playing well and now has to be like "wait, I did all this, and now my MLB career might hit another hurdle because I reflexed out of a head-high fastball, took one to the elbow, and then fell weird on my other arm." Baseball is an ass, indeed.

It’s getting to the point with Yelich that I’m expecting him to go on the IL soon because his back is acting up.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

He certainly seems like someone who needs a day or two off per month.

Maybe not as bad as '24, they've added some young talent on the mound & at the position player group. But at the end of the day yeah, it'll be a while before they can climb.
