And most people on this sight called it a MASSIVE overpay. Including me. Lol. Like I said, hindsight is always 20/20.

I don't understand what or whose hindsight you are referring to here.  It sounds like you are implying the front office just lucked into a good trade, but to me it's just evidence they know what they are doing way more than we do.

Maybe they will make another big swing trade, or maybe they will make 1 or 2 small fringy type moves.  If they do the latter, it wouldn't be some failure to "go for it".  I trust the front office to do what's best for the team and sometimes that is doing nothing.

For 1, I definitely think we should trade for Suarez, if he's made available. Kills 2 birds(need for power & 3rd base) with 1 stone. He's a FA after this season, so I think he could be had for less than what most people think. It would probably still take a bit, but don't think it would take any of our top top prospects. Attanasio is too cheap to allow that though, most likely.

Real question for you, how much of the Brewers do you think Attanasio owns?

Best record in baseball, just to probably get bounced in their first playoff series, again, just because MA refuses to pry open the wallet a bit, and Arnold refuses to use our deep farm system to make some meaningful moves. What's the point of having a deep system, if they won't use it? Not all of our prospects will make it to Milwaukee. In fact, most won't.

After the 2022-23 seasons the Baltimore Orioles:  They had one of the top-ranked farm systems in the MLB for several years. Then, by making big trades to solidify their Major League roster for a quick pennant run and depleting there minor league system the Orioles now, like a crack head, today are in dead last place.

If they settle for 2 fringy players, then that's definitely not even remotely "going for it". Most fans here are hindsight cherry pickers. Like I said, most people here, including myself, went off about that trade, saying it was a massive overpay. I understand that as a small market team, we need to have a deep system. Well, it's so deep now, that we could easily afford to trade a few to try and try to get better now, and actually go for it. I've never once said they should completely drain the farm system. What's the point of hoarding prospects? So we can watch many of them flame out and/or have the talent diminish because of injuries? We have 1 of the best records inMLB, and we swept the Dodgers. NOW IS THE TIME!!

A slim majority. He's the talking piece for the ownership group. He needs to grow a pair, and make them understand that now is the time to actually go for it, instead of gaslighting us some more, by just claiming that they are. If not, then as far as I'm concerned, they should sell the team.

Lots of factors go into this year. For all we know, there could be tension in the locker room, animosity towards the coach, etc. They made many more trades than I would expect us to do. What's the point of just hoarding prospects? Especially when we have a very deep system, 1 of the best records in MLB, and swept the Dodgers? If that's not enough for the front office to actually pull the trigger on 1-2 big trades(and add a little salary for the rest of this year)to actually go for it, then nothing will ever be enough. After the amount of time that we've been a very competitive team, aren't you beyond sick and tired of being bounced in the 1st rd? I sure as hell am.

How do you imagine the conversation goes in the owner's room if Arnold walks in and asks for a bump in spending this season to add payroll for the stretch run? Do you reckon Mark A. stands up and tells them the new spending floor/ceiling, and they follow his lead? Do you think he follows the majority rule?

Exactly. Then people here need to stop saying that the ownership group isn't cheap, and that they will actually try and win a WS title. Like I said, and a couple others here have also said. We've been "competitive" for quite a while now. As a fan base, we have every right to expect more, once in a while. Especially on years like this, when it looks like what could be, our best chance to win it all. The days of being happy with having a good/great regular season, then lose in the 1st rd of the playoffs, should be over.

Lots of thumbs down reactions to my comments, and quite frankly, I don't care. The truth hurts sometimes. Just the way it is. There's absolutely nothing wrong with criticizing our favorite team, and at this point, expecting more than just being a competitive regular season team.

I have no idea what you think we just came to an agreement on but I do understand what is happening. Be well! Go Crew!

I'm very well, thank you. Just a fan that doesn't let my emotions prevent me from calling out our team, when it's warranted.

I can't? Lol. I definitely can. I'm just a realistic fan, that knows not everything about the Crew is nothing  but rainbows & unicorns. In other words, I'm not a blind faith fan.

Great movie, by the way. Lol

I was 100% one of the ones criticizing the Priester trade. I also am not sure why that negates the argument, though. Front offices should be judged in hindsight, at least for the things they can control. I would rather the Brewers made trades that worked than trades that made me thrilled upon reading the news. I remember a lot of criticism when they “settled” for Santana and Canha while the Cubs got the real prize in Candelario. turns out they got more production for less prospect cost.

At this point it doesn't seem anything they do in the regular season will make you happy, so why even pay attention before October? Obviously we all want more playoff success than we've had, but we are unable to answer that question until October, so I'm enjoying the ride until then. I also pointed out that the Brewers made an aggressive in season trade and for some reason you don't think that counts.

Do you consider a Priester type trade as "going for it"? Farm systems aren't there just as a pipeline to the major league squad. They're also meant as capital for TRADES! Answer this. If having 1 of the best records in MLB, sweeping the season series of the Dodgers, making it look like we could actually be good enough for a deep playoff run, isn't enough to use some prospects to try and win a title, what will it take TO be a good enough reason?

It shouldn't be enough to make any true fan happy. It's about winning championships! Not only divisions, and just being competitive. Jeeesh! Lol why is that so hard for people here to understand? There seem to be too many participation trophy proponents here. Lol wow!

So again I'll ask, what's the point of watching the Brewers before october if they can't bring you enjoyment until then?

Never once, did I say I don't enjoy seeing them be competitive in the regular season. I'll ask you this. What's the point of a small market team like ours, basically never seizing an opportunity to actually go for it, and make a deep run or actually win a Ship? It's not like small market teams get many opportunities to do such a thing. Sowhen they get one, they need to actually go for it sometimes. Apparently, you've already settled on being a good regular season team, as being good enough.

What's the point of being happy watching them be great in the regular season, just to have our hopes crushed in the 1st rd of the playoffs, year after year? You actually enjoy that?

I used to very much have the Championship or bust mentality with my sports teams. Then I realized I just wasn't able to enjoy watching my teams because I was constantly wondering how they would fare in the playoffs. When the Bucks won the 2021 Championship I realized the journey was half the enjoyment of it. So now I enjoy games as I watch them and hope for the best. I've been around long enough to see when my teams are run poorly and when they are run by smart people and this Brewers team is run by very smart people. I said as much when we made the Priester trade, did I think it was a good deal? No, but I had faith that Arnold & co. saw something in Priester to give up as much for him as they did and turns out that was the right way to look at it

Anyone following this team has to now know we are THE best organization in baseball. Period.

And as such, this FO doesn’t deserve criticism from its fans, not when each and every year the organization gets stronger.

Just shush, and let them do their thing. They obviously know what to do or we wouldn’t be the best organization in baseball, now would we.

Mr Big Red — stop complaining about the past and just sit back, relax, and this team’s FO continue to school MLB, and appreciate what we have and where we’re going.
