He's definitely not the player he used to be.

I think it's ridiculous you'd give up ONE of them...

And the magical, "if it won us a Ship," is child like thinking. No trade is going to guarantee anything OTHER than you're grossly overpaying here.

Yeah, they haven't. You just struggle to comprehend what people are writing.

For example, someone just said that Suarez wasn't ENOUGH of an upgrade over Durbin to trade Pratt and you came back incredulous and said "he's not an upgrade over Durbin!"

So people write one thing and it goes in your head, gets filtered through your nonsense and comes back out something entirely different.

Child like? Lol whatever dude. I'd really like to give you a big dose of the truth of how you sound, but I'll be the better human, and will refrain. You getting really close to bullying territory. 🤣 Winning a Ship wouldn't be worth it? You seriously think that? Is Made made of gold, platinum, and covered in diamonds or something? Is he God himself? Well, I guess, his name IS Jesus after all. Lol you Bi-Polar or something? Tourette's maybe? You SURE seem to go off and berate people just for having different opinions than you.

Durbin is 3rd on the team in WAR this season. Suarez would be an upgrade but Durbin has been really good. The power would be nice but Suarez would be a downgrade defensively and on the basepaths. So no I would not give up a top 50 prospect in MLB for the upgrade from Durbin to Suarez

He said Suarez would be much of an upgrade over Durbin, to make it worth it. 36 HR's proves he'd be a tremendous upgrade over him.

Nope. Try again.

I'd like to see if you can accurately articulate the point he made or if you're genuinely incapable of doing so.

Yes. Durbin has been steadily progressing this year. Well, good news for us, I don't think it will take a top 50 prospect to get him. We DEFINITELY need more power in our line-up though. Personally, I've been pretty let down by Chourios' progression this year. Seems to have hit a wall. Hasn't really shown that "IT" factor that he showed at times last year.

No, playing this game of "what if" isn't worth it. That's just... again, child like. It's not a real argument.

If you could guarantee a trade would win a Championship, it'd be a pretty easy game, wouldn't it?

But...obviously you cannot.

And no, I don't like to "berate" people for having a different opinion, I can't stand the intellectually dishonest nonsense you keep spewing.

A simple straightforward post saying, "Suarez isn't ENOUGH of an upgrade over Durbin to trade Pratt," a guy who is a top 35 overall prospect, an elite defensive SS who is 6'3, filling out and projected to hit for power.

AGAIN, you read that as "He's not an upgrade." Don't play the victim... you know exactly what you're doing. And if you don't... well then I just feel bad for you.

Causation vs Correlation.

I don't think getting back a guy like Hoskins, who incidentally has a higher career OPS than Suarez and has been more consistent than Suarez... is going to hurt the Brewers.

Unless people really think Vaughn is the real deal. In which case... you still have a veteran RHed power bat off the bench.

The 21-year-old in the midst of a 19 game hit streak who's put up a line of .307./.347/513 since the Brewers were .500 has been a let down this year?

You were being serious? I mean it, it's genuinely difficult for me to tell.

How about just stop saying objectively ridiculous things and grossly mis-quoting what people are saying? That's... really all it takes.

I haven't misquoted anyone. Have a FANTASTIC day. You take this stuff WAY too seriously! 🤣🤣 I truly mean it, though, please block me. I'm very concerned about your blood pressure, and the possibility of you having a stroke or something.

I'm not trying to ruin anyone's parade. Just trying to get some "fans" here to stop settling for mediocrity,

I've been ignoring most of what you say because it's all hot air and a lot of garbage but you absolutely don't get to decide who is being a "true fan" or not.

You can have your own opinion about it but to basically be calling out folks that don't agree with whatever it is that your opinion is does not give you the right to tell those people that they aren't "true fans". I certainly have my opinion about you but I'm not going to tell you how to... enjoy? being a baseball fan.

I ignored that guy about a year ago. Now I get to see him again because you all quote him. If I was capable of skipping a thread, I would. That's totally on me. But what a wild ride this thread has been since bigred took the torch from 888.

LOL, ok I guess he didn't take into consideration that Hoskins and his knee injury 2 1/2 years ago kind of changed the picture.

Well, what's the point of not expecting more? We've been pretty damn good in the regular season for a long time now. Simply making the playoffs just to get ousted right shouldn't be good enough for any of us. There's nothing wrong with expecting them to try for more, now. At least once in a while.

And, thinking i speak nothing but "hot air" is only your opinion. Which you are entitled to. There's already been a few here who have said they agree with me about that, and I'd bet serious $$ that there are more, who refrain from saying they agree, in fear of being lambasted/berated by the "click" on here, for saying it.

And during that time Suarez has had a .752 OPS and a OPS+ of 107 before having... again, an abnormally good year this year... where he's got OPS about 230 points better in AZ than on the Road.

But if you think Hoskins getting hurt helped us this year... fine.

It's less ridiculous than Chourio has been a disappointment or trading Pratt for Suarez or nobody wants to win except for bigred there.

Who were you replying to when you said this then?

Perhaps I'm mistaken. Show me who said Suarez wasn't an upgrade over Durbin?

Or the other couple dozen examples.

I feel like this is a theme I revisit a lot when people talk fatalistically about sports failures.

One team wins, the other loses. Very basic stuff. If the game were played on paper then they could just run computer simulations instead of actually playing the games.

So there are no guarantees. It's why the games get played. It's why everyone picks the Dodgers at the beginning of the year but the Dodgers still have to play the games. Anything can happen.

I don't know man, the reason for following sports is to enjoy the competition. Losing is baked into the experience.

True. I've never been good at heading Twain's advice.

I'm fairly certain @bigred and @brewers888are the same person. Once the original premise was kinda blown up, he came back in to continue to make some...amusing arguments/proclamations.

Nothing wrong with trying to improve our odds, though. Is there? Especially when we have 1 of the best records in MLB, swept the season series with the team every picks to win it all, and when we have a deep farm system.

What you find disappointing is of little consequence to me and I didn't say he hasn't been disappointing this year. He got hurt. That's "disappointing."

I'm trying to convey how similar Suarez and Hoskins have been as hitters. I do realize I have to spell everything out in very simple terms for you.
