Don't know if I agree with keeping him in but please prove me wrong

The bullpen is over worked so yeah he should stay in.

Yeah. Idk if it was too risky but its a moot point now

Liked the decision. Uribe can be too wild and this Phillies offense can make up four runs in the blink of an eye. Gives the bullpen one more needed day off.

Only 2 walks for Priester over his last 17.1 IP. The lack of strikeouts limits the ceiling, but he’s a valuable pitcher if he’s not giving free passes and generating ground balls at high rates

It’s not quite as risky when you leave in a pitcher who finished the previous inning than it is when you bring in a new pitcher to start the ninth and he has to face 3 batters. Just have to be ready with a quick hook.

First time in quite awhile that the Brewers won on Friday. Have a chance now to win a road series against an opponent with a winning percentage over .320

Very strange to see the team high-fiving & congratulating each other after the 27th out, with a starter standing out there. I know Priester didn't actually 'start' but you know what I mean. That's how using an opener can work, if you can generate enough breathing room w/the offense. Nice to see.

I thought it was a mistake to not let Hall stay through Schwarbers' AB in the fourth. I'm guessing it was imperative for them to have Priester come in w/o baserunners.

One oppo HR, and one absolutely crushed to RF. That has to get you a little excited.

Durbin is a gamer. Realizes he has no cannon but makes up for it w/the quick release. Still wondering if he can stick at 3B but he had an impressive day.

Not to pile on, but even before tonight I feel like this is a bad take. The Brewers obviously see something they like. Since the trade he's eaten a lot of innings and seems to be getting better and more comfortable and there's tons of team control there.

And he hasn't even had one off-season in the pitching lab.

FTWAI (For Those Who Are Interested): Max Lazar is in the Phillie's bullpen.

Also for those who've followed the farm for several years, Weston Wilson is on their bench. Actually has been, on & off, since '23.

Ortiz has to be pinch hit for in that situation. He's not good enough. They needed that run

It really looked to me like Ortiz was starting to emerge a little bit in recent days, but yeah, he's backslid. Too often looks overmatched on fastballs middle-up, and on his last AB same thing with one at the knees.

That being said, I doubt you'll ever see them lift him for a PH as long as they have the lead, which I agree with.

6 IP and 0 K is something you don’t see everyday

Could be wrong but I'm going to assume that this and the recent decrease in free passes are not unrelated. Hopefully it's a situation where this was the plan to get him in a good mental mindset of controlling an at-bat then eventually slowly loosening the reigns a bit to start getting at least a bit more swing and miss while minimizing the risk of things derailing on him. Hopefully we're seeing them build a foundation in real time
