Luke Adams. First pitch. 101 mph hit 390ft to left center.

The young man is on a tear

Was it a homer?

Carolina has had a really rough series. They might be in danger of choking their division lead with only a couple weeks left in the first half.

AND they are on the road @ Lynchburg next week.

With back-to-back shutouts the Sounds are suddenly 5.5 GB Lehigh Valley with two series to play in the first half. Getting mildly interesting!

Time for a promotion, don't you think.

Not necessarily. You have to remember he last threw competitive in innings in 2023  before his TJ. And he only threw 24 innings that year. Hard to know what the Brewers are thinking. But I can only imagine given what they are seeing they'll want to be somewhat conservative - responsibly building up his stamina. Not pushing him too quickly. The main thing is he is loudly announcing his Rule 5 protection status to the org. He just needs to stay healthy.

Big win for the Rattlers after the blown save. Guaranteed a series split over a very tough opponent in Cedar Rapids.

Crow, Mis, and Henderson would be quite the rotation in Nashville...and soon to be in Milwaukee.

Man RHP Christian Welch's season has pretty much been a quagmire. 7 BB tonight? Yikes.

Also left the game with a trainer that he called for. Nightmare start to his first pro season.

Another dominant one for Crow. 45.5 Whiff% / 40 CSW% / 63.6 K-BB% against lefty today as well👀

Also on a side note, they tweaked Henderson's cutter. In both starts in June, he averaged over 3" horizontal break and less rise on that pitch compared to around 12.6 IVB, 0.3 HB in previous games. Personally I think it suits his arsenal well and functions as a better pitch to change hitter's eye level.

It will be interesting to see how they manage Coleman Crow's innings this year. He's already up to 37 IP but he's coming off throwing 24 innings total the last 2 years. He did throw 128 innings in 2022 though. Maybe they can get him to around 100 innings? That would set him up well next year to jump to like 120-140 innings.

Yeah I've been thinking 80-90 IP. 100 IP would not surprise me given he likely has two more starts to end his first half. Let's hope so!

Crow is a minor league free agent at the end of this year.  Signed in July of 2019 and spent the year on 60 day IL. Have to believe the Brewers want to see what he can do at AAA to decide to place him on the 40 man at the end of the year.

Crow is a 40-man lock, regardless.

You certainly may be right. We'll just have to wait and see. It certainly wouldn't surprise me to see it (Nashville promotion) in the second half. As Jim said, I think he is about as guaranteed as you get for a 40-Man Add given what he's doing on a start-by-start basis.

Yeah. Brewers specifically targeted him in a trade and he’s been absolutely lights out flashing really good stuff and now potentially adding a changeup as well. I don’t think we need to worry about this one. He’s going to be added to the 40 before he can elect FA.

There’s not really a difference in difficulty level these days between AA and AAA so I don’t think that’s really something you need to test with before making your 40 man decision.
