Almost dropped a 'Derrick Turnbow anyone' on you all.   That will get saved for next time.   Brewers win!

When a hitter can generate a 12-pitch AB fouling off 101 mph heaters and 88 mph knuckle curves, sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the hitter.

So can we just skip ahead to when we’ve got the surprise hot NL wildcard team (idk, maybe the Giants this year?) at home in a game 3 and Megill holding a slim lead with two on and two out? Because at this point, I’m not sure our Brewers know how to tell a different story…

Shows how inaccurate stats can sometimes be. The line says two hits but I thought that was one of Megills' better performances of the year, and I can't remember the last time I've seen a better AB than the one Arenado turned in.

So Avans looks to bunt, bunts the first one foul which isn't a strike, then takes a thoroughly buntable pitch for strike two. He'll fit right in😆. Seriously though, nice piece of work turned in on the trip resulting in the sac fly.

Mikolas is about the least strikeout-likely starter you can find & he Ks six in the first three innings. This isn't going to be a consistently good offense--that's been established. But some of these ABs are incredibly ugly. Hopefully Yelich is starting another hot streak.

He seems to fit the Brewers style of player more so than Rosario - scrappy, fast, versatile

Apologies if it's been mentioned, but after being snubbed for the roster spot Rosario has exercised his option & is no longer with the organization. I've always kinda liked him, but he has a few more years on him than Avans & they say Avans plays a pretty good CF. And as you said, most certainly faster. Almost caught the catcher w/his pants down on the tapper in front of the plate.

As for as K's go the Brewers are in the middle of the league in terms of K% at 22% which ranks 14th in the league.  With runners in scoring position the Brewers are in the top 10 when it comes to K% at 19.4%.  The offense is definitely missing some power in the lineup but with more power comes more strikeouts.

The Brewers have definitely moved more to a put the ball in play type of team over a team that hits for a lot of power.

I see Contreras (Cardinals) was chirping up a storm in the media about the incident at 1st yesterday. Wouldn’t be a Cardinal player if he wasn’t. Especially when he was 100% to blame.

I don't have a problem with how Contreras feels or what he said about Rhys, but to say it on the record during media availability is pretty insane

My brother is a Cubs fan (he spent too much of his adult life in Illinois jobs), and I always want to ask him the perspective of Contreras when he is on your team. He just seems to be a "push every edge, and past that" always to me .... as he has been on our 2 biggest rivals.

Wait why did we go with Avans over Rosario?

It's a cutsey move.  Give the kid his first chance in the bigs at 29.

CUTSEY.

"It's been a while since we had a ball up here."

How would you know, BA?

LOVE!

I'm fine with cutting ties with this Brewers fan poser...

I'm also growing tired of having different guys in the booth every night.

I need a little consistency, I need guys who are always there, and seeing everything that happens on a daily basis.

Back-to-back gritty performances by Megill.  I don't want an ERA of 4.5 and a WHIP of 2.00 from my closer but dang....I thought he again executed extremely well.  A guy who can throw 102 and then also command a huge breaking ball isn't easy to find.  The fastball is straight and hittable if you can catch up to it, but a  lot of guys can't catch up to it--especially after seeing 2 or 3 yakkers.

Definitely, they've evolved over the years from where they were, esp if you go back to the Doug Melvin era. But especially over the last two games, that's too many Ks in my book when you look at who they were facing. Vs Pallante & Mikolas, that's way too much swing-and-miss.

When you're built on speed & baserunning like they are, IMO they need to be better than middle of the pack contact-wise. Admittedly though, I would've thought they were further down than 14th.

Wondering if the MLB will fine him,  they should.

I saw it online with his potty mouth bleeped out.  What a creep.   I can't imagine William was thrilled...

Cards are a low life team now, not like they were only 3-4 years ago.  I think Ollie Marmol is has turned them into the dirty birds. He is the head scumbag.

All things being equal, I’d rather have the scrappy unproven player that might surprise us than the 33 year old veteran who has proven himself to be mediocre or worse since 2022.

Yeah I thought he pitched great yesterday. Arenado beat him but it was a great battle. Then a well placed bunt. Still managed to get out of it. He was executing well.
