Zas scares me.

Zas pitched well yet again! I should be less scared. I saw Grant Anderson warming up, though, and that scared feeling comes back if he pitches the 8th.

I cant believe this guy still hasn't regressed yet. Hopefully after the all star break he comes crashing back to his paltry peripherals. Pitchers need to start punishing him for his awful plate discipline.

Give the Cubs credit man. They went out and did what needed to be done. Spent money to get offense. Then Armstrong made the leap and now they are ready to roll. Brewers could do the same thing if they wanted but have chosen not to. I respect it.

I acknowledge it

I somewhat understand it

I don’t respect it

Blame Arnold for targeting Durbin and Ortiz in the Devin and Burnes deals. We have no punch because we continue to target guys with no power. As much as I like Frelick and Turang you can’t win a championship when 2/3 of your lineup aren’t a threat to hit for extra bases.

it’s not easy to score when you consistently need three hits to score one run.

I don't like it but they decided they want to win and put the money where there mouth is. Imagine Tucker on the crew. Imo you gotta want it.

Even if he does, I doubt it'll make the Cubs' offense much less potent.

100%.

This organization hasn't been able to develop many bats and is relying on far too many little guys with zero pop. I understand it's not long term but What were they thinking that it would work?

Ortiz is just not an MLB player and should be the first out the door.

I’ve said this before, but it should be obvious that emotional energy will be better spent this season watching the wild card race.

it may be possible for the Brewers to catch the Cubs despite their superior talent and ability to spend money to improve themselves at the trade deadline. But, I’m not holding my breath waiting for it to happen.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The Brewers have no one in their lineup who can hold a candle to the 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 hitters in the Cubs’ lineup.

So yeah. That’s a problem.

As good as this organization has been at developing pitching, whatever their system is for developing productive MLB hitters is absolute dogwater, to put it nicely.

The big market teams will always spend more money than the Brewers.

It's not if it's when. You don't see sustained success with the second highest chase rate in the league. High swing rate and poor discipline is not a good combo. It's an unsustainable power surge too.  It is driven by a 15.3% increase in pull rate on fly balls (40%, tied for 13th highest) and a 10% increase in barrel rate on those fly balls, leading to a 13.1% rise in home run-to-fly ball rate. While he’s made mechanical adjustments the EVs remain avg. Pitchers start sequencing to stop him from pulling he's neutered,

At least this will only be one year since Tucker most definitely is going to get a bigger deal than what they will pay,
