I didn't Ashby get hit. I hope it wasn't too bad?

I was pretty concerned at first but he did continue to pitch. Wouldn’t think with those score they would have had him continue if they had any doubt or concern at all.

99 EV from Estury Ruiz. Ashby seemed to deflect the ball in self defense with his hand. He finished the inning. Let’s have Easton finish us out.

I don’t know if we’ve spent enough time talking about how Christian Yelich’s back surgery turned him back into prime Yelich. With his 18th homer he is chasing his first 30 home run season since 2019. That contract is aging better and better if that remains true.

Yeah, no way Hook lets him pitch if it's anything even remotely serious.

Let’s just have him make it through a whole season

It's a great come back - a testament to work ethic, perseverance, courage, and much support from the organization.

Still, one wonders whether the Brewers would be better now if they had traded him when he was in his early prime. The Cubs got rid of their name players, to the agony of their fans. It's paid off.

What have the cubs won since their trade off? Nothing. Since they got rid of Baez, Bryant and Rizzo: Four seasons without a division title, combined 62 games out of first. I’m not sure leading at the all star break in 2025 is “paid off”

You're right, but it takes a minute to rebuild. They're pretty good right now.

A small market team can't afford such luxuries as sentimentality.

It's good for the soul to admit when you're wrong, esp on an internet message board. There is no way I would've started Vaughn over Bauers today. The guy even starts a 3-6-3 in the opening inning & scores from second base on a base hit to the left side. Heckuva debut.

LA scattered the BP innings out pretty well, but we have an opportunity to hamstring them a little the next two days. Kershaw is averaging a little under 80 pitches over his last four starts, and you wouldn't think Glasnow will go real deep on Wednesday. Problem is Kershaw is a real tough guy to run a pitch count up on.

Last time we've had a double-digit win pitcher before the break was..........? Must've been a while, I would think.

Freddy was feeling himself tonight. His 96.0 average FB velo was the hardest of his career as a SP and the 98.7 and 98.9 mph pitches to Pages in the 6th are tied for his 4th and 8th hardest pitches of his career.

Yeli has a no trade clause and you can’t anticipate injuries…….Brewers have had the best extended stretch in their history over this period.

its funny…..fans complain about the brewers not signing their stars……then when they have a guy coming off back to back mvp caliber seasons…..he approaches the brewers and agrees to what was considered a below market deal at the time.

Stuff happens……I’m glad he wanted to stay……and I’m glad they didn’t trade him.

Burns didn’t want to stay…….either did Hader……so we traded them…..Yelich wanted to be a Brewer for the rest of his career……just like Braun…….thats why they had a no trade clause……..

Maybe we could just appreciate it in the rare instances when we can keep a guy for more than 5 or 6 years.

Back in March I exchanged the Cubs tickets in our 12 pack for tonight’s game.

Now 6-0 for the season after a fun night at the ballpark

Absolutely. We'll have a summer of family fun and passion, as usual.

I got to 7-0…then somehow lost to Pirates on a Monday night in late June.
