Should Bauers get the start at 1B today against RHP? I’ll assume Vaughn tomorrow against Kershaw.

Yeah, would assume it will be pretty much a straight platoon with Bauers also being a defensive replacement since he's been less bad in the field (-4 DRS | -3 FRV in 2,034 innings at 1B) than Vaughn (-13 DRS | -16 FRV in 2,833 innings at 1B).

For as bad as Vaughn has been, his one potential saving grave is a 262/324/426 (109 wRC+) over 608 career PA vs LHP, not too far off from the 235/340/432 (115 wRC+) that Rhys has posted vs LHP over 97 PA so far this year.

It would be real nice if we took a series from the Dodgers for a change. Coming off a Home sweep at the hands of the Astros, this One is hard to read. It seems we always find ways to lose series to this dreadful team from Los Angeles.

Perhaps, because MLB allows them to have a payroll triple ours.

Tripped over that bolded adjective. Usually, it's used to describe something of poor quality - like say, the Rockies. But, the Dodgers' talented and expensive roster certainly does fill me with dread, so I'll allow it.

Go small market team! Beat Goliath!

We just can’t battered in these 6 games against the dodgers.   I’d take two wins.    My guess is after the next series against dodgers our wild card lead will have dwindled or erased.  But that’s ok

If a saving grace is an attribute that describes a lone redeeming quality, is a saving grave the only thing that keeps his career alive?

😂

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Several major professional sports leagues utilize revenue sharing to ensure financial stability and competitive balance. The NFL, NBA, and NHL are prominent examples, with the NFL and NHL employing a salary cap system alongside revenue sharing.

How does the MLB get away with this?

Because the fans keep handing over their money as far as I can tell.

Because they collectively bargained and agreed upon terms with the Players Union.

Then the fans who support this league are to be blamed ... me included!

Not really game-related.

I figured that after I posted it, you can remove it.

I talked a bit about the Joey Ortiz stuff last week. Two great weeks does not undo his season long inconsistencies. His approach has not been good this year. That being said, best thing for the team and for Joey is to figure it out together.
