Rollins, Herro, Murphy, Stewart, Ware with Jaquez, AJ Green, Mara, Kuz, and whomever we can get back relatively cheap doesn't sound like to bad of a team. The down side is we dont get many future 1sts.

It doesn't seem great.

If we're trading a player like Giannis, young stars or larger contracts(like Jaylen Brown) who are also stars and a pick or two make sense, then flip Brown to another contender. They can piece together bad contracts and picks.

But I don't care how many 1sts we get this year, I'm looking for the next 3-4-5 years. By then, you'll be clear of the picks you owe, maybe you'll have a building block or two of young players and the means to add more young talent and be clear of the bad cap hits.

Miami maybe backing out or unwilling to trade away all of their younger talent.  Word is they are starting to balk at the Bucks requests to add more to their proposed deal.

The Celtics are also still looking to trade for Giannis but are unwilling to part with Brown.  I have heard if they part with Brown they will be looking to get at least one pick back.  Either from the Bucks or from a third team in a trade.  Not sure if this is true just what I have been told.  Only one of the people I have talked with is saying this and he is not as reliable.

I think we are trying to get Wiggins and the Heat want Jovic. When the reports say that our Heat offered would leave the cupboards bare I think that has to be a Wiggins reference. Larson or Jak wouldnt leave the cupboards bare.

The Miami trade packages I've seen are crap.

honestly, any package the bucks accept will be viewed as crap. no team can give equal value without gutting the team and all future assets. Honestly, unless they get another lottery pick and can trade into the top 5, its a loser trade.

So if it’s the Celtics we’re likely getting Brown. What exactly is the point of this? To go from a bad team with a superstar player to a bad team with a star player?

I would think it would be flip him for more picks / players. He has said he doesn't want to be traded here.

Honestly, it feels like we had better offers last year at the trade deadline.  If we are only getting these two **** offers might as well just play this season with Giannis and see if we can strike fire with the new coach.

Brown would be traded to Atlanta or Portland.  Portland is the desired trading partner as they hold the Bucks future picks.

If the Bucks get Herro he would also be traded to Detroit supposedly.

I know he hasn't had the best success with reporting on the Giannis saga but here you go:

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/286194/Giannis-Antetokounmpo-Will-Be-Traded-To-Celtics-Or-Heat-No-Other-Teams-Involved

This is accurate according to my sources.

Both of the trades are very lacking and the Bucks are not backing down from their ask which is a lot.  I give it a 5% chance Giannis gets traded.

I think its pretty simple. If he says he will sign the extension, you keep him. If he can't / won't commit you have to move him for the best you can get. Its no different than what Matt Arnold deals with every year with all pending free agents. I would rather have a few first round picks than 1 more year of Giannis.

And doesn't Brown only have two more years left on his contract? Wouldn't make any sense to hold onto him. Plus once they get Brown I'm presuming they'd no longer be burdened with that 1:1 tax apron trading rule and more picks could come from him than they could with Giannis.

If Herro/Brown are next-traded, could we expect the Bucks to start trading for some bad contracts and getting picks with that, too?

I wonder if a secondary benefit from all of this is that Ryan Rollins will be asked to take way more shots and we'll get to see just where his ceiling is. I didn't see enough games last year, so I'm not sure how to think of him. Is he a possible future star or more like a "Military 8" because of the lack of talent around him?

Wiggins is not in the Miami trade offer.

I have heard if the Bucks go with the Heat offer there is a trade for Portis in the works.

The Bucks are also trying to offload Turner but are not finding many suitors.  The Lakers have shown some interest but expect to be extremely disappointed by the return for Turner.  I have heard 2nd round picks and an expiring contract for Turner.

I'd hold Turner until next year, but... I'm also not going to be surprised if you're not getting much value back for him. Some 2nd rd picks is... something.

I think trading Portis makes sense as well.

I just think getting Jaylen Brown is a better asset and getting Portland involved is ideal(I'm guessing that they're trying to do that, but struggling at the moment).

I'm a bit surprised TBH. Trading him is obviously the right call... I just thought they were going to go through another season of half measures and try and force it with him and dig that hole a bit deeper.

And I'll also be a little disappointed, but I hope he gets a standing ovation that's as loud as anything he got during the finals his first game back. That dude played HARD for the Bucks. He played(plays) at a level I've seen very few from an effort standpoint. Russell Westbrook but 6'11. He was special and he's always going to be a Buck. Kinda like KG if he'd have won one in Minnesota.

But this at least gives you a SHOT to be competitive in the next decade and you're not even good now, so... whatever. Miami would suck, Boston would suck a little less because you're getting a star, but, I'm good with either.

Yup. Keeping him would not be Ray Allen for Gary Payton stupid, but it'd be close. You trade him now, you are trading away 2 years of team control vs 1 year... like we're at with the Bucks right now.

Now, if we could trade for Brown without giving up Giannis, I'd be all for keeping him... but the Pelicans and Portland have the assets that'd we'd need to do that, so no reason for Jaylen Brown, as fine a player as he is... to ever don a Bucks uniform.

would we get picks from Miami or Boston, or would we have to trade whatever players they send to get picks?

The Heat deal has more picks.  The Celtics deal has one or two picks.  My contact doesn’t think there is anymore and these maybe pick swaps.
