In the last week Siegler has come to the plate 15 times and has reached base safely in 8 of those trips.

He's hitting 222 with this hot streak. He has walked a bit but he's still not a plus. Black i still hold out hope can be a solid bat but no big deal either way I guess.

I guess I would look at the trend line, much like the stock market. This is his first real attempt in the big leagues.. so look at the 30 day numbers vs the 15 day numbers vs the 7 day numbers and see which way he is trending.

To me he is trending very much in the right direction. Black is an unknown. Siegler plays 5+ positions and allows you the option to PH Jansen if needed. As far as bench guys go... He is valuable.

Looking at the latest forecast and projected storm development, I wouldn't be shocked if the second game ends up being postponed before it ever starts.

I don't think either team wants to sit through a long weather delay after already having played one game.

Because the weather looks clear for the rest of the week after some early showers tomorrow, they could reschedule tonight's game for tomorrow or Wednesday afternoon. They only schedule the makeup game on Monday to avoid having trouble getting all of the games in if there is bad weather later in the week. It looks now like that won't be a problem.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I get that. I don’t want him playing over Durbin which was happening enough but as a bench guy not bad. Wish he could play short to leave Turang at second.

So much angst among the Brewers fandom about winning a game in this series. Last I checked, the Cubs are the ones who are 8 games back and the Brewers are the ones who have the best record in baseball and are coming off a 14-game winning streak.

I think the comments being made about winning a game are based on the importance of getting one win on the board and going on from there.

The history of baseball, including several situations involving the Brewers, is littered with examples of teams dramatically changing a playoff race by grabbing momentum early in a series and rolling to a sweep.

A streaking team can quickly turn in the other direction, and no Brewers fan wants to see that start.

Not sure if folks saw Counsell claiming to have never seen a George Webb restaurant (https://www.si.com/mlb/brewers-fans-reporters-catch-craig-counsell-lying-about-teams-burger-promotion), but I think there's a great marketing opportunity to deliver a whole platter of burgers to the home clubhouse on Wednesday.

Counsell doesn't look like a burger and frys eating kind of guy, he is way too uppity and high maintenance for mere construction or factory workers. That's why I like Murphy and is pocket pancake style.

But of course it is the Brewers that are bringing the thunder!

Perhaps if he had a 12 game win streak when he was with the club, he would've known about it.... I'm sure a platter of those burgers in the sCrubs clubhouse would ensure a Brewer victory!

Actually they did have a 12 game winning streak that triggered a burger promotion in 2018.

I think the article in question quoted Counsell as saying that he doesn't recall seeing a George Webb restaurant, not that he had never heard of George Webb or its Brewer win streak promotion.

The one saying they caught Counsell lying seems to be addressing something Counsell never said.

Considering where the Webb restaurants are located these days and the fact that they tend to be "hole in the wall" eateries and not ones with big roadside signs, it wouldn't shock me if he doesn't recall seeing one because there's a good chance you wouldn't notice it even if you drove by it.

Why is Turang leading off instead of Frelick all of a sudden?

My guess is they plan to pinch-hit for one of them based on the Cubs bringing in a lefty, and wanting to manipulate that decision for the Cubs.

Doh! I missed that one.  So you're saying that we can't trust how people write articles these days?  It's all about clicks and likes??

My wife and I went to college in Milwaukee and decided to eat at GWs just because... they weren't all that easy to find and no, I wouldn't eat a free one now.

What I'm looking at this week is Yelich. How often do we get the hit-three-balls-hard Yelich, as opposed to the swing-at-any-breaking-ball-no-matter-where-it's-located-and-be-behind-on-fastballs Yelich? Seems lately it's one or the other. It's looking like he can be entrenched in the DH role now as we get back closer to full strength, which is good.

Yelich hitting is a big factor. But I'm looking for the whole offense to come alive after two dormant games Saturday and Sunday.

The Cubs pitching has been pretty solid lately, so runs may not be as easy to come by as they have in some of the recent series.

Seems odd that Durbin went from the dog house to hitting 2nd now too.

I grew up in the Milwaukee area and always saw the advertising that "George Webb Predicts Our Braves Will Win 12 Straight League Games in 1957" or whatever the current year was.

I also saw the coupon in the Milwaukee Journal Green Sheet every Saturday for a bag of 7 hamburgers for $1. That was when McDonald's was making its first appearance in the Milwaukee area with its 15 cents hamburgers.

But I don't remember ever going to a Webb restaurant until I was older and would occasionally stop at one with friends for a late bite after a recreational softball or basketball game or some other night on the town.

I now haven't been to one in decades and had to look at a map to see where there is one in the area. Even the one near the Marquette campus is gone.

Brian, I think that it is uncalled for.  If you don't like Counselw for his baseball acumen, that is fair.  When I moved here in 1981, there was a High School kid down the black, who was obsessed with baseball.  He grew up in a three bedroom Mickelson house, his Dad was a PR guy with the Brewers, which was not a way to get rich then.  Counce was just a hard working kid, not uppity, as you somehow have determined.  He was shy, and still is.  But he was, and is still a community member,.  Don't judge what you don't know.
