I’m pleasantly surprised to see Vaughn in the lineup against a RHP, I thought we were headed for another Bauers day.

With that said, Vaughn needs to start hitting again.

He has been hitting into a lot of bad luck!

I sincerely sincerely hope Seigler can shut up the Madding Crowd with some inspired play tonight. The guy has 53 AB. FITY THREE. With insanely bad luck given the underlying data. He has 12 K and 8 BB.

I watch this absurd dialogue taking place from the morass of utterly spoiled fans on twitter (I very briefly clicked on Jack's article link while scanning the affiliates line up cards) - fans who complain about every signing; every non-signing; every failed moment - and realize it's no wonder they are at odds with the Brewers Way of winning. They don't understand player development. Not one iota. They don't understand how insanely good the Brewers are at Small Market chess. It's nauseating. Complain at everything. Complain at every player. Not once, really, stopping to see the bigger picture or learning a little more about why an Anthony Seigler might be playing. Or why a RHP Grant Anderson might actually be having a really good season.

For perspective sake: when watching and evaluating Minor League Players, about 125 PA's is when we begin to form a very very early thought process on a player. Then we look at the underlying data to see what's really going on under the hood - did back luck play a part? How were the swing decisions? What kind of barrel % or hard hit ball rate was happening? What kind of BABIP was the pitcher experiencing? What was the whiff rate? Was he working on new pitches? Etc. It's just never straightforward. Do these same fans not realize Durbin's sudden uptick in production is also likely directly related to more rest late in the season? More advantageous match-ups and a better fresher body?

Good gracious this entire Seigler conversation makes me nauseous. He's such a likable player. He does so many little things well. Ugh.

Do you like him more than Durbin, though?

My thing about Seigler is more that I like Durbin, a lot.

I think we should consider ourselves fortunate though that our organization is run by people that are able to look deeper into results than a simple slash line.

Mona’s bat has been better than I expected, albeit in a small sample size. No one will ever mistake him for Ortiz defensively, though.

You could do a lot worse than Mona for the 25th or 26th man on your roster. He has never made a single Brewer fan say, “I wish we had Vinny Capra or Oliver Dunn back.”

I’d be ok with replacing Miz in the rotation at this point.     We really don’t need a guy who is going to go 65 pitches and 3 innings with one inning being absolutely horrible.

now maybe last game he found something where he doesn’t have to spaz out on every throw and be a little more composed.   But if he’s terrible today figure out if he can do another role

lets get back to back wins and have the guys start having fun again

He's shown that he is capable of being a shutdown pitcher. That may not appear again this year, but then again, it might.

Pregame talking heads (Vinny and Craig) speculating that Durbin is sitting as a teaching moment, owing to Murph calling out Durbin failing to get a run home from 3rd with fewer than 2 outs last night.

Could be speculation, but also passed the smell test, based on what we know of Murphy.

Seems kind of college baseball-ish, but maybe it works.

So Murphy just singled out Durbin? Because there are countless similar results committed by other players.

Seigler is pathetically bad.   Must be that 41 OPS+ versus RHP that Murphy loves...   seriously, why the hell is this guy on the roster.  .184/.305/.184/.489 has to be the worst in the league with 50+ PA against RHP

By the end, I absolutely couldn't stand CC as manager and was overjoyed when he left town.  Hoping it doesn't come to that with Murphy.

Seigler and Bauers have no place on this roster.

The last 30 days Durbin has a batting average of .202 (last 7 days, .179) and OBP of .258. He's been good in moments, and I would put him in the lineup tonight, but he's had stretches of rough weather.

Vaughn has mostly hit into bad luck lately.

He's also barely had a game off since joining the Brewers and is going through fatigue. These guys are humans, not robots.

Come on, ump.

And Pfaadt gets a called strike on the exact same spot.
