Time to turn off the game.... when I'm hoping for a double play to get a run in... and we proceed to score zero after loading the bases with no outs, its not our day.

Major success taking 2/3 here, but I'm done for the day.  Hope we pull it out.   This team has the tools, we just have to play to our potential

You just know putting up a goose egg when we had the bases loaded and nobody out is going to come back to bite us.

I know, just a fly ball would have been ok.

As weird as it sounds, with how we've sometimes done with the bases loaded and nobody out.... atleast a double play there gets us a run and back to tied...

Vaughn will come through here, but I've had flashbacks of bases loaded, no outs, and scoring zero

Yeah, the double play would have been better.

Woodruff's last few starts against good-to-great teams haven't been excellent:

8/19 at CHC: 4.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 6 K

8/25 vs ARZ: 5.2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 8 K

8/31 at TOR: 4 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

Will be interesting to see if Woodruff would be a starting pitcher in a 5 game playoff series. But that's a question for a different day.

Woodruff has just 2 ERs today. 4 runs scored on account on bad ump calls.  I think 1 or both of the other games, you can blame a run or 3 because bad ump strike zones.  He and Miz are done wrong early in their starts.

Well hopefully Nance doesn’t come back out next inning, because he is absolutely on point. It wasn’t like Vaughn and Collins missed any meatballs—they didn’t see any.

Vaughn has come back down to earth. I don't see him on the team next year and we will have to address first base again next year.

I never thought I would need Hoskins back but I think we do.

He was a huge part of a very fun summer. But yeah, I don’t think he’s the long-term guy at 1st.

He might get a tender next year though and be the 1B by default since we don’t really have any better options.

Vaughn isn't giving them much choice.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

What Vaughn did there was classic Hoskins.    He needs to be better there.
