I’d pitch his ass 7 innings.   Pitchers need to pitch

With all due respect Willie, thank heavens you aren’t running this baseball organization.

20 games left 100 wins is still a very real possibility,

19 games left … need to go 12-7 while resting players in prep for playoffs

Smooth Brewers win tonight. Was hoping to see Yoho in the 9th or 7th. I think it's time for Murphy to ease up on usage of the leverage guys with the lead to 6.5 games with 19 to go.

That would be awesome if we could clinch early and rest the everyday players for a few days.

The Brewers sorta opened it up over the last month to make things interesting by playing .500 ball, it’s just that the Cubs are not good enough to capitalize and go on the kind of hot streak that we did.

They swept the Angels and then followed it right up by getting swept by the Giants. When they have had a chance to get sweeps against bottom feeders like the Rockies and Braves and Nats, they can’t do it. They need sweeps, not series wins and they just kind of fail to get it out of neutral over and over again.

Since the last victory of their season-long 5-game winning streak in July, the Cubs are 22-22.

Ah I remember being 6 up like 2 weeks ago and saying I'd be concerned if the lead shrank to 3 games. Someone said the lead would be 2 by that weekend. Good times. So much constant stressing about the Cubs schedule and they never got within 5 in that timeframe, and continue to drop random games to bottom feeders.

Any serious schedule advantage has been wasted by the Baby Bears.  Its just not a factor the rest of the way and no more Nationals or Rockies for the them.

If he can,  6 would be great like Woodruff tonight.

Yeah, the really, really soft part of their schedule ends tomorrow. They go to Atlanta after that, host Tampa, go to Pittsburgh and Cincy, then finish with the Mets and Cardinals. Not brutal by any means, but not the cakewalk they’ve had. And the cakewalk stretch has been 9-6 or 8-7 depending on if they win tomorrow. That’s not good enough against your easy stretch when you’re trying to make up 6 games.

Season ends September 28. NLDS begins October 4. If the Brewers clinch the bye, how much rest do you want them to get?

Even though it was tongue in cheek it would be nice to tell Miz we need 80-90 pitches from you and have him show some restraint and get some length.   Like actually be a pitcher and not a thrower

inatead of 4 innings 55 pitches of chaos.   I don’t know if that does anyone any good this year

They just better face skenes.   It seems like they always miss him

Yes, he's cooled a bit lately.  No, I don't care much about that.

Nice share. Just Quero playing games is great. Those were rockets off the bat.  Look forward to the day he joins the ML club.

Enough to go to Cancun and get some sun.

I understand the frustration with the short outings, but it’s a different game these days. It makes you appreciate the 7 inning outings from Quinn these days, but the last thing they want to do right now is blow out arguably the most talented arm in their organization.

I just find it crazy that a guy pitching 75-85 pitches would blow his arm out.      But that would involve discipline and actually being a pitcher.

at some point pitchers need to pitch.

The young man is learning to pitch in the enormous pressure of the big leagues. Base runners seems to throw him off. He loses his form and can't fix it on the fly. He'll get there.

Eventually he will get there … probably not this season … surely not in the playoffs

Piling on the Miz talk. He's already eclipsed his innings thrown last season and I'd guess his season was finished at this point last season.  While they want to keep him at Starter, I believe his role is bullpen in playoffs. If he Starts its probably a bullpen game of 2-3 innings.
