New Magic Number: 11

Can only be reduced by winning

Unfortunately, I am "that guy"...Pedantically, we need 11 wins, not a "magic number" of 11.

Everyone knew what you meant, though.

Gonna be a long week

[Severely edited]It's either going to happen or it's not. if it does we can all be pissed/mad/sad/mad at that point. No need to borrow grief from the future and suffer twice.'

I try to be a realist and realistically we are a couple innings a away from wrapping up the most successful regular season in franchise history. And we also may struggle in the playoffs. But one of those is happening and worth celebrating and the other one remains to be seen....

I agree SO much with the bit about borrowing grief! Well said, preacherman!
Generally, I much admire the posters who know their stats and can talk about that thing called "analytics" (or whatever).  But I also like when people (like me) just come aboard to express their joys and frustration. I don't come to audition for the manager or GM role, or to score rhetorical points (except maybe get a laugh or 2).  It's a game we love. But it IS a GAME.  (Don't believe it? Read the bloody awful news if you dare!  🙁

Cheers everybody! It's record breaking season, and there's more baseball ahead! WOOOT!!!

What was his velocity today? It appears he pitched well - which is exciting news.

Around 97-98, when he is usually 99-100

For being the "weakest division in baseball",  it's funny that three teams made it in.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

They haven’t nearly been at full strength those five weeks and a lot of people the last few weeks have gotten days off and rest for the playoffs.

Whatever the excuses are, they haven't played well the last five weeks.

I believe the NL Central also had by far the best run differential

absolutely. I love the posters that come here with emotion. I just get annoyed by those who only express their negative emotions.

Not unexpected. I’m sure he’ll ramp up a bit this week.

I would say today is probably the biggest win in a meaningless exhibition game that I’ve ever seen.

- We did get the franchise record for wins. It’s ultimately not that important to me but I get why it matters to people. If nothing else comes out of this season, the 97th win gives the 2025 Brewers their own unique identity and place in franchise history.

- Won best record outright - didn’t share it with the Phillies. I know it wouldn’t have mattered, we had the tiebreaker but best overall record in baseball is cool.

- Finally, go into the playoffs on a nice note. Maybe it wouldn’t have mattered in a week, but I like this better than sitting on a big losing streak for the rest of the week.

Plus really good bullpen innings. I might trust Chad Patrick more than everyone other than Megill, Uribe, and Ashby at this point. Those four plus Koenig give us a lot of reliable, high velo guys in the pen.

The less I need to see Anderson and Mears in big innings the better.

I don't want to see any of Anderson.

It’s Mears that makes me nervous

I'm confident management won’t place Misiorowski on the initial playoff roster

Murphy said they were going to try today.   And they won.   So I hope that settles some people down

Including yourself in the “some people” would be appropriate

I didn’t put too much stock in these games this week and I’ve stated as such

I don’t know whether I want the Cubs or Padres. I’m not more or less confident in one matchup. I loathe the thought of no real home field advantage against the Cubs, but ending their season would be pretty sweet.
