It’s fine…..every playoff format in any sport allows wild card teams to beat division winners…..and it’s not changing.

This isn't any other sport.  This is baseball.  I'm fine with one wild card or having the one game wild card playoff between two wild card teams.  I'm not at all fine with this current system.

WisDOT needs to reposition every single one of their construction barrels and jersey barriers between south Milwaukee and the state line, plus just randomly throw flashing lane change signs pointing in all directions, through Monday morning

Agreed!  Let's sneak out there Saturday morning and set up a bunch of detour signs directly into Lake Michigan!

Not sure it matters much, but it might be slightly preferable for the Yankees to win so the Brewers get the early start time. Taking 7 hours of rest from the Cubs might have some marginal relevance.

This stupid ad bloated site is to blame for that.

Maybe shake some money lose, (and that all goes away).

Unless of course, this isn't your favorite site.

This is double, maybe triple true given the more limited pitching availability the Cubs will have Game 1. They'll probably start Rea (who threw an inning yesterday on his side day, I imagine)?.

Why not Boyd for Game 1?

He only went 4+ innings and threw only 58 pitches on Tuesday and was warming up in the bullpen today. He should be good to throw at least a few innings on Saturday and could come back to start game 4 next Thursday.

It's not worth it to me to pay anything for a site like this.

Maybe I would if I was only interested in posting for a month or two to troll and then cancel as soon as my favorite team isn't a factor anymore.

Ah yes………

“I don’t have to outrun the bear,” said the second friend. “I only have to outrun you.”

Years ago, I was walking to the top of Clingman's Dome in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. A mildly strenuous half hour hike for the average person, but kind of hard because you could notice less oxygen at almost 7000 feet.

There were sow black bears with cubs all over the place along the sidewalk. Passed a 300lb + gentleman in what were clearly brand new $30 work boots from walmart......laces untied.  We passed him and were commenting on the two bears 30 feet from us.

In the funniest southern accent i've ever heard he hollers to us, "Ain't gotta be faster 'dan 'da bear, just gotta be faster 'dan 'da oder guy!"

I laughed to the top of the overlook. My wife and I still quote this to each other in silly circumstances. I want to meet the guy he was faster 'dan.

I'd rather get some fall golfing in with the beautiful weather this weekend. The anticipation of the game building all day.

Get a good buzz going, stave off the nerves......maybe tee off into the group ahead of us if anyone has cubs gear on.

Good thought.

I guess it depends on how deep you're hoping the starter goes. Boyd was also throwing in the bullpen at the end of the Cubs game today. Part of his normal routine? Probably on regular rest. On short rest?

Boyd and Imanaga seem like the two best pitchers for the Cubs, assuming Horton isn't ready to go. Do you want to throw one of them on a (pretty much) guaranteed short start in Game 1, or have them on full rest (plus a day) for Games 2 and 3?

If I'm CC, I go with the latter, but maybe he likes Taillon as much as those other two guys. If he doesn't feel like there's a big drop there, maybe it makes more sense to start Boyd Game 1.

I'll predict it's Rea.

Is this managing malpractice to leave that rookie in for as long as Cora did?

He got the double play ball, the defense just botched it.

He threw 33 pitches in the inning. Seems like a lot.

Dang! great day! Love a beautiful fall day on the course, but it can be bittersweet.

My 12 and 14 year old nephews are pretty athletic and they're rapidly developing the ability to beat me so for the first time in my adult life i'm actively trying to become a better player.  😆 been shopping putting mats for like a month.. figure I can maybe best them there.

the 14 year old lefty is hitting the Titleist tsr2 I got him for his birthday for about a 260 yard average 😬

I don't mind talking trash and playing mind games.

Worth noting: Game 1 winners are 18-2 in the 3-game era.

After this year, make that 21-3. Only the Yankees won games 2 and 3.
