Turang needs to put the ball in play.  If ever there was a bunt situation that was it.  But nope.  He fails miserably

Would you have bunted there?

Leadoff double squandered by that Turang AB....you just have to put the ball in play in that spot

He was so good in the playoffs last year and then starts this year with the double and just has NOT been competitive since then. Just bad at bats.

Can't have that from your #3 hitter.

Also... kinda feel like you should be saving Patrick here. Going with Uribe and Megill. He's one of the few I trust to give us multiple innings right now.

Honestly even if we lose this game, still feeling great. We’ve held them to 4 and have had a chance so many times. We’re the better team. Just couldn’t overcome that bad start.

We should still win this series regardless of what happens today, but I’ve been a Brewer fan long enough to know that jumping out to a 2-0 series lead and then catastrophically choking away the next 3 games against the most hated team against our most hated manager is well within the range of possible outcomes.

There I would have.  Turang vs a lefty and he’s struggling big time.  I absolutely wouldn’t have earlier in the game

Monumentally disappointed with Turang this entire series, but especially that AB.

Really doesn't belong hitting in the three hole.

I would have trusted Turang to hit something to the pull side. He just failed.

That's... a 50/50 call I think. I get the argument, but... he's your #3 hitter.

It's a slippery slope. Losing tomorrow on the road feels very plausible. Then it's a game 5. It's baseball. You go down 4-0 in the 1st and you're in trouble. The quicksand sinks you fast. I don't play, so I don't matter, but this game was the one I felt the most confidence in. Was hoping the Cubs just weren't up for it and would go quietly.

3 hitter in the lineup.  But he shouldn’t be batting there

That'll be the moment we discuss for 6 months if we lose this series.

Or starting Priester this game instead of game 2.

I still think there's a 50% chance we win, as I did a few innings ago.

Gonna need an unsung hero to come through.

Mona...and then Perkins before Yelly and one gets on, it's the 21-year-old star.

This feels a bit like a Miguel Cabrera type moment for him. I hope you're right.

Who else then?

No way thielbar was going to give him anything to pull there - i think you get greedy and actually try to shoot the ball to left and take that approach instead of trying to slug something pull side and k-ing.  Chourio is station to station anyway so him on 3rd with 1 out doesnt give you much than 1st and 3rd with 0 outs.

Gave them too much help but this one.

had runners at scoring position and didn't get it done and that wild pitch/steal ended up being very costly

This is exactly why I would have had Hoskins on the roster. For this reason right here. Would he strike out? Probably. Just like most guys. But he's been here. He rises to the occasion.
