It wasn’t worth a win.

Meh.  Would have been worth extra innings if Uribe hadn't walked in a run.

Listen, I've been following the Brewers since 1977.  I get the frustration with MLB.  Really I do.

But if you look for something to be upset/negative about in baseball, you're gonna find it.  The Brewers are in the NLCS!  It makes no sense that they're here given MLBs structure.  And yeah, they're probably going to lose the series given that the Dodgers just absolutely detonated a much wealthier and healthier team in Philly.

Try to have some fun with it!  Or maybe try not predicting doom with 3/4 of your posts, at least?  I mean, do what you have to do.  I'm expecting defeat this week but I'm going to try to enjoy what I can because I don't know when they'll be here again.

Tomorrow, we should go up to the plate and foul off as many pitches as possible... don't even swing.  Walk if its given.  Just run up the pitch count for 4 innings and get to the BP early...

Not sure if that should be blue or not...

In reality the Brewers are going to have to play perfect to win this series. Tonight was far from it. There is just no margin of error against the Dodgers with a roster advantage like they have.

That approach about getting hit on anything inside in that spot is a learned one and goes to your mindset before that specific at bat even begins - you've got to convince yourself mentally before the AB that you are not backing away for any reason on a pitch you arent swinging at heading inside because its a game-tying RBI in that situation.  Turang didnt approach that at bat correctly.

Hey that's true!  I go to a ton of TRats games and he got HBP constantly in Appleton.  Saw that continued in AA too. lol

Blake Snell is the first pitcher in MLB postseason history to face the minimum number of batters through 8 innings since ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

1956 when Don Larson pitched his perfect game .....

Thoughts on this one:

1) I will never see anything like the play in the 4th. My goodness. Baseball. What else can you say?

2) If the Dodgers get 7 innings from their starter, we are not going to win games in this series. Snell was great. We have to be better at the plate.

3) Our bullpen just wasn't quite as sharp as it needed to be. Patrick and Uribe both looked human. Dodgers had a lot of baserunners. They hit the ball harder. If we had won, it would've been highway robbery.

3) People can bag on Brice if they want. He swung at a bad pitch. But our lefties were 0 for the game, until Bauers doubled and Yeli walked. If our lefties don't hit, we don't win. Lot of blame to go around offensively.

4) Silver lining is we got to Sasaki. I think we all would have taken 1-1 headed to LA. Let's make that happen tomorrow, and all is okay. We weren't good enough tonight. The Dodgers were better. Change that tomorrow.

Its not the left handed hitters that failed today.  It was the lefty killers in Chourio and Vaughn that couldn't touch Snell that was really terrible and hurt the Brewers.

Time for Yelich to play LF and get Bauers at DH every day (yes, even against LHP).

Bauer's career split vs LHP.  Not pretty

Yelich looked like Rhys Hoskins today at the plate. That cannot be.

His time has passed Brian

(we should try and get something for him while we can)

You know he’s a free agent after the season, right ?

Cheaper than going to Milwaukee and I don't get distracted by worrying about wins and losses or salaries.  Gets me back to just enjoying the rhythm and aesthetic of the game.  MiLB is in many ways a purer form of baseball than MLB.  And I can get home in about 10 minutes too.

Yeah Bauers has been great lately, but no you can’t start him against LHP.

I'm pretty worried that Uribe might have hit a wall after his super heavy usage during the regular season. His velo was way down today. Sinker was down 2mph and slider was down almost 3mph. If that's going to be the norm going forward then I don't know if you can look at him as a trustworthy arm.

I think he was talking about Yelich, not Hoskins.

Wasn't trying to be.  Was actually trying to do the exact opposite of that, but yeah, I probably should have known better.  Cheers.

Sorry. It was the “negative in 3/4 of your posts” that did it for me. I’ve had a few and am disappointed. You have the right perspective. Here’s to hopefully winning Game 2.

In a way I agree...but Snell wasnt your typical lefty tonight - that change up was used at will against Contreras, chourio, and vaughn.  He didnt have to give in and offer up hittable pitches to those righties because his change was so good - both in the zone and out of it.  Nobody had a shot against him

Dodgers runs were scored off a moonshot HR by a great hitter with a season's worth of postseason at bats and walking in a guy during an inning full of walks.  Betts took ball 4 and Turang couldn't get to that spot
