That White Sox left fielder is having a day.

He seems a little disinterested

How is Turang not a free agent until 2030? Feels like he’s been here forever. I was just thinking that we are going to start having some tough conversations on whether he’s a trade or hold because I don’t see him sticking around after 2029, but it looks like we still have some time to worry about it.

Is this too early to say that the White Sox are a bad team? They have made some bad, bad plays in only 11 innings this year. Today alone, Benintendi’s two plays, throwing to 3rd allowing Bauers to take seconds, bad challenge, the play that allowed the 4th run to score. I mean, it’s the second inning!

Well they were like a 60 win team last year, so no, I'd say it’s not too early.

I think it’s because his first season they sent him down for that month. It’s exciting that we still have him for quite a while!!!

Was there something with his 2023 mid season demotion for a month or two that bought another year of service time?  Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly, but I think that's why we are in Season 4 with Turang in the majors and 3 full ones ahead of it before hes actually a free agent.

He wasnt hitting out kf a wet paper bag back then and the move was justified...but now it also looks very prudent getting an extra year of control, too.

I don’t know what where Smith would slot in on a team with talent in the rotation, but Burke is a #5 somehow masquerading as a #2 starter

I'm glad ABS is here but teams need to be more judicious in what and when to challenge.

Brewers were putting together a system for that until MLB said no.

I wonder if Greg Maddux would have been mediocre as a pitcher if ABS had been available in his playing time

I feel like Maddux wouldve found a way to exploit it to his advantage.  That guy could put a baseball anywhere he wanted to, and had one of the great baseball minds in the history of the game.  Always hear stories of the plans he had to set up hitters, sometimes for months down the road.

I think he would have.  Those corners used to be wide open back before they put the strikezone box on the television screen.

Who are current MLB pitchers who paint the corners like Maddox did?

I love the strike zone box on the screen. I had my four grandkids watch the Brewers on Opening Day & they were calling balls & strikes. I also love the ABS system & would not be opposed to full time automated umpires for balls & strikes.

I honestly couldn't think of anyone who is purely elite because of control right now, typed it in to AI and it spit out Kirby, Skubal, and Woo.
