You don't think other teams are aware of the major health concerns Megill has with his arm?

Only reports I can find from the offseason state brewers where receiving trade interest from other teams for megill

Brewers probably thought they didnt get a good enough offer

Why isn't Megill covering home????

Probably thinking about his trip to the IL.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I’m so glad I took a break when the Nats tied the game at 3-3. I just checked the score & I'm thrilled I didn’t watch their inevitable meltdown. I hate ugly baseball. The meh uniforms don’t help at all.

But no teams did.  The Brewers made  available in the offseason.

So you think just because he wasn't traded there was no interest and no offer made? lmao💀

I was surprised they started 8-2 without Chourio and Vaughn. Just need to weather the storm until they get back. The bottom of the lineup is a black hole.

Not ideal to lose a game to the Nationals when your manager manages it like a playoff game from a pitching perspective.

Two ugly performances in a row. I thought the defense was very good until the ninth, but that game was teetering all night.

Big swing from Bauers, then nothing at all against a team that's really struggled to get outs. Not a big deal this early, but you'd certainly like to see better baseball.

Top of the lineup wasn't much better tonight.  They need Contreras to get going for one thing.

That was a bad job and bad baseball tonight. Not much other way to say it.

About as bad a three game stretch I've seen in a long time.

Megill's regression was predictable but he was throwing 99 mph and blowing hitters away in the playoffs last season. I'd be surprised if no one was willing to take a flyer on Megill.

Arnold needs to do a little better job filling out the back of the roster. I realize our resources are limited, but we need to be able to cover a little better when we have injuries. Contending teams need to be able to fill in better than Rengifo and Matos.

Such a gorgeous ballpark my one regret about leaving my job (based in SD) is failing to go to that park more than once. I would fly back home after a couple days and mostly would go there in baseball offseason since the Medicare enrollment period is in late fall into winter. Enjoy my friend and make sure you grab a michelada and tri tip nachos (if they still have them)

Good call on the nachos. Messy but good.

I could totally do a brewer trip out here.

Fun place.

I don't know about this. Rengifo and Matos are pretty much what you get at the bottom of the roster. Depth has basically been THE reason for the Crew's success. They do a great job of finding 23rd and 24th guys who do everything you want in that role, including putting up really tough ABs consistently.

Where we should be spending more is the middle of the roster, I think. When you lose two of your best sluggers, there's just nothing but David Eckstein-Hamilton types, and a lineup full of those is a struggle, even though I really like a lot of them individually.

The pitching will be alright. Enough youth and talent there to get this team far.

I would expect we'll see some high-ceiling young positional talent up here by mid-May. Never fun to go on a losing streak, but my biggest concern is the bullpen. Not a lot of trust there right now, with anyone. Might not be long before Yoho gets another look or Zerpa works his way into the ninth.

Kind of funny how different opinions can be because I feel like Zerpa has been very underwhelming so far. I know the ERA looks fine but the 11% K-rate, stuff being down, and underlying numbers are quite scary. He had issues putting hitters away in KC and it's a reason why he never really pitched his way into a leverage role there.

Grant Anderson is low key deserving of leverage innings right now.

If I were Murphy, I'd take Megill out of leverage for now (if he doesn't end up on the IL) and go with some combination of Uribe, Anderson, Ashby, and Zerpa in the later innings.

Of course, doesn't help that Ashby has basically been burned until Tuesday now.

Padres have some sweet city connects.

Very nice.
